It does look very tidy. How does it go?

I can confirm it does have an engine. 134PS is what it is rated at. 0-60 in 8.6 seconds *I think*, so it doesn't set the world alight, but for on the roads there's so much more go than what I've had before. The best thing is how it handles though. Really tight and responsive, little roll, it just obeys and it's a joy to drive.

alex24 - Nice car dude and be happy that you can afford to buy a brand new car! **** the haters on here. Just be happy dude and congrats! Too much negativity on these forums especially people willing to take a dig at every opportunity.

I'm am an extremely fortunate chap and I'm enjoying it as much as I can. Thank you, glad you like it.

WTF? 335i at 22 that's amazing!

How many no claims you have?

0 at the moment, as I said I was in a similar position to alex24 either being named driver or 3rd party for a few years on small cars.

Not really? It's not as if he's run out and bought a Veyron!

Agreed

Fair enough, but a 335i at 22 is pretty darn good I say.

It's a beautiful car and amazing to drive...no e92 m3 though :(...one day :p Hell my dad was trying to convince me a 320d would be more than enough...I lol'd and got a 335i :D

That fiesta metal looks really nice.

The Fiesta was one of the cars I was considering to replace my Polo with but just didn't have enough power.

Insurance on my Cupra is £700 a year fully comp which isn't bad at all. I didn't buy it just on that reason alone but it go in it's favour especially when similar cars, Clio 200, Scirocco 1.4 were £1500 upwards to insure.

Alex24, that's a great looking car you have there. Nice one.

Don't feel you have to justify your purchase, you have your reasons for going this route when you quite clearly could have bought an old exec saloon with a 6/8 cylinder engine if thats what you wanted. ;) Just an example!

I had the same flak from certain people about buying a new Golf, lucky I didn't mention insurance, age and income, or those-who-know-best would probably have a field day..suggesting 1001 better ways to spend MY money.

enjoy

Nobody mentioned an old exec saloon, just that limiting himself by engine size is a little silly when insurance isn't that expensive on larger engined cars.

It was an example, as I said ;)

I could have insured an older car with a larger engine and so on, but I went new for various reasons. Long and short of it is, I'm happy with the cost of everything and seeing as I don't have a house/kids etc it's well, well within what I can afford.

Sounds like a larger engine is not on the priority list atm, so why get into the "you could have got a bigger engine" stuff. My point is that certain parts of the motors community seem to think bigger is best regardless of the many other factors which influence a buying decision which do not need to be justified or detailed here. As a general comment, why cant someones car be appreciated for it is without every choice being pulled apart and second guessed?

Then again, I think people know what to expect when they post here and can chose to respond or ignore :)

Because it's a discussion forum not a back slapping club. We discuss what we are presented with, and if somebody tells us he bought car X because of insurance Y then obviously people will have opinions on that they feel they wish to share.

Ok Fox, we all know your opinion on this. Lets just move on now, shall we?

You still didn't read what I said. I'm glad some above understand and read what I actually posted!

I don't expect it to be a back slapping club, but I certainly wouldn't expect to get the 3rd degree by some stranger attempting to reduce my credibility for their amusement or whatever twisted justification. For a 'man of honour', that's far from honourable.

For those interested in more powerful Fiesta, the Fiesta ST is rumoured to arrive late next year and with a 1.6 Ecoboost engine that puts out about 180BHP, along with tuned suspension geometry and probably a lot of other ST goodies. The styling might not be for all, but it's in line with the Focus ST that is also coming soon, which should be a lot of fun. This is rumour I believe, although there was a Fiesta ST concept about at the LA Motor Show.
