Completely standard 1995 328i Sport with LSD which you could then quite easily pop to work in, go to see your mates in and otherwise enjoy driving whilst having sold the Focus. You don't need a special car to drift on a casual basis.

And when I hit a wall in my nice beemer, which, is inevitable as a n00b, lets he honest? I deliberately spent a grand on a car (2200 includes insurance) already prepared as opposed to spending 3-4k on a car and then modding it at more cost for that reason.

I don't see what's so hard to understand here. You do know what drifting is, right? It's almost certainly going to result in knocks, bumps, scrapes and potential write off.

Generally speaking a stock 328i on an N plate costs less than a caged one with a hydraulic clutch, so funnily enough yes, I know what drifting is and considered that in my response.

Either way its bought now so enjoy it

I think we all have to agree to disagree - this is how I wish to spend my money - much in the same way an E39 doesn't appeal to me at the moment, although I can appreciate it's greatness for sure, but to you it's car heaven.

I was struggling to find and E36 328is in standard form for any money, there aren't many of them left, even less on the market.

No idea how accurate this is, an presumably it covers all 328i sports, not just E36 (unless that was the only era for this specific model, of course) but it reckons around 1.5k left in the UK.

I remember when my cousin bought a 328i and told me it was a 320. I was impressed by the power it had when I was 14.

It was - there wasn't an E46 328i Sport.
