Don't forget to :
1) take into account those 18 months it sat in a yard when you sell it. Wouldn't want you to go to prison for fraud it obviously not being the same age/make/model as the registration document indicates
2) inform the DVLA that it's not actually a Vauxhall
3) inform your insurance company that it's not a Vauxhall

I'm off to bait some VW Polo and Audi A1 owners about their inferior badge engineered cars that they paid too much for.

Holdens but less so, atleast they have had their design altered, same as Pontiac. Vauxhall didn't alter anything they just removed the badge, which you can still see if you remove the VX badge.

They are called Chevrolet Lumina SS around this way.. and I bet no one is thinking "there goes a Vauxhall". :) Then again, they are not saying "there goes a Holden" either.. unless its an enthusiast.

Travelled to Barnsley on Saturday to pick up this :)

2003 Saab 9-3 Aero :)

Few facts about it:

2.0T kicking out 210bhp
6sp Manual box
131k on the clock
Dual Zone climate control - first time owning this, love it.
Came with Full Service History and receipts etc

And fortunately the previous owners history is detailing...not a single swirl on it, bar 1 or 2 hair line marks its immaculate, inside and out :)

I'm very pleased :) - driving home last night at 70-75mph it was sitting at about 2200rpm returning 38mpg. Is so smooth and quiet it's unreal, yet feeling very planted, the miles just sailed by.

It's also got the 'medium' range Saab sound system including 7 speakers and an amp underneath the passenger seat to drive them, giving overall very good sound, specially for a manufacturers fit.

My initial requirements were:

1) Comfy on long journeys
2) Reliability
3) Has some oomph

Overall I don't think I did badly, its perfect for what I need, got to test it out on some lanes when I went to visit Tom and whilst it certainly isn't a drivers car it still handles well and has lots of grip, suits me!

Bad points are:

1) Passenger window not working (can hear the motor but it only goes down an inch or so) - kit to fix has been ordered - £43
2) It's due an oil change
3) Cruise control doesn't work (never had so I can't miss it, I'll fix it at some point), also on the note of electrical niggles I noticed that the steering volume controls don't work when the lights are on.
4) Alloys could do with a refurb but I'm not bothered.
5) Slight wobble when braking lightly, must be a slightly warped disc, I'll order a set of fronts next week.

Paid £2350 - I'm very very pleased.

I need to lookup how to keep the paint condition as is, IE to clean it without putting swirls back on it and protecting it, if I keep on top of it just doing it once a week it should keep it in good condition all over.

Will post proper SLR pics later :)

That's a lot of car for the money Phate, I think you've done alright there. My initial thought was, rather you than me buying into a Saab right now ...however for £2350 ...it's hard to knock it. Are those red calipers standard though ?

Well the administration seems to be being handled properly so the value of them is dropping but parts are readily available so should be ok unless I stack it and the insurers take hold :o

Don't think they are red as standard, but I like it :) - I'll give them another coat when I take them off to do the discs :)

Thank you :)

Forgot to mention the aerial fin on top is cracked and perished where it's made from rubber, tis only a dummy anyway...so I've ordered a replacement from eBay. £5 :)
