not to take sides james, but it is a vxr at the end of the day......

In what way ?

To be fair to jamesy it isnt a VXR at all. It's a Holden that was badged and sold as a Vauxhall

It uses a corvette V8 and is a rear wheel drive coupe. It has nothing in common with the European VXR /OPC range which all use FWD and European models as their base.

Finally got some new wheels on my GTFour...

Much better now!... Just ignore the crap tyres though, they'll be getting changed soon (the previous owner had them put on, but they've never given me any problems, so I will keep them until they need changing). Got a set of TRD skirts coming to match the front and rear spats too.

Lovely GT4 mate! What colour is that? Is it one that was for the Celicas? Only asking because it looks fair similar to the Alsace Granite paint colour used on the Toyota Corolla TTE Compressors

Ah right, never seen one in that colour before tbh. As much as I like the ST205s though, I think I like the 185 better :p. Dem pop-ups.

Done much to it, or is she relatively stock?

... each to their own :p

I do like the 185 front end, but the rear doesn't do much for me! Engine mods wise, it's got an Apexi intake and a Blitz Nur Spec R exhaust. Only other mods are the wheels and the front/rear/side (when the sides arrive) skirts. Cracking car performance wise. I don't intend to do any performance mods, just bring her back up to scratch condition wise. The thing that lets it down at the mo is the suspension. Need to replace some superstrut components and that's expensive :O.

Tbh, if there was a way to give the ST205 the face of a ST185, I'd be all over that hah!

Sounds good matey. If the suspension is on the way out, it may be worth looking into aftermarket adjustable coilovers; considering the prices that the rare Superstrut suspension may be at, coilovers may be cheaper (but give you more handling performance if set-up right)

Guess this could be settled by looking at the log book....

Travelled to Barnsley on Saturday to pick up this :)

2003 Saab 9-3 Aero :)

Few facts about it:

2.0T kicking out 210bhp
6sp Manual box
131k on the clock
Dual Zone climate control - first time owning this, love it.
Came with Full Service History and receipts etc

i got one of those to bud.
had it remapped to 255BHP.

have sorted out all of the common niggles myself
if you get on saabcentral or saabscene there is a lot of info on there,

also get yourself a code reader as you will need it for when a coil goes.

i have since owning it repaired these common faults

replaced the seal in the power steering pump.
replaced the peeling dash
fitted an amp in the boot as amp 1 failed
sprayed front splitter plus metal part of the wing mirrors as they rust.

other work done
stage 1 255bhp
wheels refurbed
did have a induction kit on but was getting cel's so took it off.
painted callipers black.with white sabb stickers on them
debadged

needs doing
stablilty control failure on the sid, although it does work its just annoying seeing it on every startup and apparently will be an MOT failure next year with new law.
perished roof antenna.

had MOT the other day and it failed on a side light bulb that was all.

Very nice, lovely condition :)

Mine needs a couple of bits doing to it, it's mainly cosmetic though :)

How do you find the remap? As standard I find it can be a bit torque steery, with an extra 40bhp or so I can't imagine this getting any better :p

I've ordered a few bits for mine:

Window repair kit for front passenger window (common fault I'm told)
Replacement fin, it's only a dummy one so £4 off eBay then we'll spray it up.

Also I'm pretty sure the SAI checkvalve is faulty on mine (these go around 60k and mines done 132k ) so I'm going to confirm that tonight but getting prices today, need to order some oil to do a fuel change as well, any ideas how much oil this takes?

I want to get my wheels refurbed, found a local guy who will come to me and do it for £160 :) - next payday me thinks, right now I'm about to order a load of cleaning stuff! :D

yes the extra BHP makes a massive difference torque is 370nm now
very thirsty around town though

yes the sai valve went on mine also.
i replaced the valve but i think the pump maybe semi faulty as i get a engine warning light if i start the car and leave it running.
but if i start it up and drive away almost immediately after ignition then it don't come on. i dont even think the car needs it to be honest i dont no what it does.
auto headlight levelling has gone on mine but don't bother me

check for the power steering fill cap leaking
carry 1 or 2 coils as they do go.
change the plugs
check for damp under passenger seat by amp 1
to replace the fin you have to go in through the door seal and under the roof lining.

http://www.carpartsconnexion.com are good for saab parts, make sure you haggle

£160 for the refurbs is good if they are doing a full refurb with tyres off and blasting
i bought this oil http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004RG39GA

That would be a very good look :O!

That's a good call too, although I believe even swapping to coilovers wouldn't remove the SS suspension, just the struts and springs? Going to refresh a lot of the suspension bushes soon. ARB bushes, drop links, lower control arms on both sides, figure 8's. Expensive, but it will be sorted afterwards.
