Show Us Your Motors!

My mothers Mini Cooper 1.6. Literally struggles in 2nd to go up some hills.

Maybe there was something wrong with it then ...I know you said there wasn't, but are you sure?

I used to drive a Cooper from time to time, and while it was no speed demon, it did not struggle to go up hills in second ...well not unless you were to trying to pull away from zero in 2nd up a hill anyway (which is silly) ...or perhaps if you were to trying to pull a 24' caravan up it.

Now uncomfortable and lacking space I will grant you, and it didn't have as much go as you would hope, but it was plenty quick enough for ordinary, day to day driving. I used to drive a 4.4l V8 remember, so it's not as if I was wowed by the awsome 120bhp because I was used to 60bhp. I'm just being realistic. The Cooper is fine, it's not fast, but it's not really 'slow' either, not in the same way a Matiz or an Agila is.

I took it in under warranty as I thought it was buggered. They said it was fine and didn't throw any codes up. Did post this up somewhere around here.

And when I say struggle I mean sometimes I have to go down to 2nd and it will still not pick any speed up. This cars 2nd gear is like my old ST's 4th gear when doing hills. Nothing wrong with it, just dog slow. Dunno if weighing 16stone would have anything to do with it? Half of the torques gone there :p

They are surprisingly nippy and have a nice bit of torque. Whilst slow on paper, they are pretty good. Caught a few of my mates off guard with it when they were driving their VR6's and RX8's.

It felt a tonne faster than my current car whilst not really being too dissimilar in 0-60 times. I do miss them torques.

Yeah the best thing for me about the fiesta was how brilliant the torque pull was. Slack hill in matlock, going up in 5th at 60mph not losing any speed impressed me loads

I love Motors and love my Audi A1, don't care what anyone says...I think its fantastic! Ten times better than a skoda fabia or seat this vw that. :D

PS: I will try not to post mine/mates/friends/family cars any more, and stick to posting random nice cars innit in the 'daily encounters' thread.

:)

Copied and pasted into show us your motors. :p

I would remove that video mate. Things like this you should keep to your self. Was only yesterday I was watching a very eye opening BBC documentary. In this documentary it had a part on how the police mainly catch people now through the Internet (YouTube and Facebook). It only takes someone who hasn't got anything better to do in life than report your video to the police and this forum has got plenty of them on here, we have seen it plenty of times before.

Didn't you recently lose control and crash your car at a much lower speed? :p I thought you'd learn tbh. :p

people like him are the reason why insurance prices are so high.. thinks he owns the road.. writes the rules.. and brakes them when he feels like.. and then comes as a bit of an arse to people who suggests him to remove the video.. :o
