Show Us Your Motors!

Dear Blackhawk47,

You need to stop worrying about what people on an internet forum think of you, and you need to stop trying to win. My point is, and this may not be the actual case, but my point is; the internet is full of jealousy. It's much easier for people to veil their jealousy on the internet. Your only 20 and you're driving a 61 plate Audi; this automatically places you at a higher social status than all the people who are 10 years older than you yet driving cars which are £10,000 cheaper than yours, or maybe they didn't have your financial status when they were your age.

One thing you never do on an internet forum is make a post which puts you at a higher level than others, it will never work out unless you have a fairly large following of arse lickers. I know for a fact that if I posted a video of me breaking the speed limit in a 911 Turbo (for example [just saving my own arse here]), all hell would break loose, the heavens themselves would morph into fiery pits of rage.

The reason why I'm not joining in, and almost committing forum suicide in the process, is because I simply do not give a **** about you driving your car at 90mph.

Sincerely,

It's not always about money.

Dr House just bought a Porsche, Gibbo has one, ceman has a Nissan GTR (I personally would want that more) but i am not jealous or want any one of those. Plus, he doesn't own the car outright either. I on the other hand have no car repayment on mine. It actually just cost me petrol and tax & services to keep it on the road.

I would not say people are jealous of his Audi A1, and lets take a step back here, whilst it is a prestige badge, it is still a small Hatchback.

Blackhawk, stop doing silly things and then pretend it is cool, then you won't get other people having a go at you. If you want to show off something, do it more understated, not go speeding on a public highway while using a mobile phone. There is no defence against that and trying to argue otherwise is absurd.

Yes, I know you're not jealous of them, and you're right it's not always about money. :)

But the anonymity of the internet can create an ideal environment for certain things, ideally when one person gets singled out. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deindividuation

You/Me could easily "join in with the crowd" and start bashing him and nothing would come of it, no consequence at all. The level some people are taking this to is unbelievable. I personally understand that there is a young immature twenty year old behind that username and that stops me from joining in.

Good post that.

If he stopped attention seeking people would leave him alone.

Ohh and this is the private road huh? :p

well the videos are off so logically it has some consequences didn't it? :)

No one said you were?

Edit: Not worth it.

Really strange way of structuring an argument, your comment was clearly aimed at those who have been critical of blackhawk over the past few days. I have been one of these, obviously for the reason his numberplate has '61' in it. Not because he has been behaving in an utterly bizarre way or anything like that.

Nice edit BTW.

If you really think people are jealous of the fact he rents out a 61 plate Audi A1, you are severely mistaken. There are countless posters with FAR better cars that manage to survive the rigours of posting in motors without attracting unwanted attention and criticism.

I just don't get jealousy over cars at all

I browse this thread to look at what other people drive and appreciate nice cars.

I also like what I drive even though there are loads of people on here with much better and more expensive cars.

I guess it just comes down to maturity :p

I get jealous :p

I hate looking in the BMW Owners thread because I want a E92 M3.

Don't get me wrong, I look at peoples cars in this thread and wish I owned some of them. But it's in an aspirational way, not jealousy :)

At the end of the day, there is always going to be someone with a better car than you no matter what you drive ;)

Not if you own a Batmobile like that guy who goes to visit orphan children is having built. Nothing will beat that kind of epicness!
