Show Us Your Motors!

Steve, if you don't mind could you go a bit more into the deal you got? I'm curious about the costs.

If he was in negative equity with his previous car his costs will presumably reflect additional financing to get him out of that so won't be particularly reflective of the sort of deal you could expect to get yourself.

Take a look at the BMW Website where they have some representative examples for a better idea:

The 120d I swapped in for the new one had negative equity.

Sums.

28,000 cost of car reduced from 31k rrp
600 deposit after paying off negative equity.
4.9% apr
433 per month
Gfv of 11,000
4 year deal, will change in 2-3 years when I have positive equity for an upgrade.

Fair enough.
Personally if I was happy to commit £433 a month to a car I would take a bank loan for £20,000 and pay if off over 4 years. At the end of the 4 years you'll likely have £11-12,000 in equity which you can use to put towards the next car.

4.9% apr is a very good rate, loan would have had to be 28k full car value it didn't make sense to do it with a loan.

It's a lot of money but then again I was paying 255 previously for an ageing car which had started to have issues.

Oh I know, I was just saying that given the monthly amount you are paying what I would have spent it on :)

I'd probably put that £433 towards a mortgage!

But like people are saying, someone has to take the hit on a new car, so us sensible folk can grab a 3 year example for good money :)

Just picked this up yesterday and not cleaned it yet so excuse the dirt :(

1 owner from new and FFSH. :)

Excuse the saxo rims they need to be burned. :(

Saxo rims on it? Wtf was the previous owner thinking?

Great little car, i have a little soft spot for the zetec s. Sort the alloys out, sharpish!

I got it for £600 but that was due to a high mileage and short MOT but it has been looked after so I have no worries about the car, It has a new ticket on it today no advisories. :D
I do like the fact it is standard bar the suspension most are ruined by the whole euro scene. :(

And it is lowered on SPAX shocks and springs goes round the corners like it's on rails.

Great cars, I do miss mine time to time. Do look slightly dated now though!

Looks a clean example, change the rusted screws in the front reg plate to tidy up the front end :)
