That is a Monaro VXR with the same 6.0L V8 from the VXR8. The older Monaro's were 5.7L. I'm from the Black Country.

Its the different generations of Corvette Engines

LS1 is the 5.7 one found in the First Monaros. This is the engine from the C5 corvette

The Monaro VXR (seen above) Uses the 6.0 LS2 engine, found in the C6 Corvette Corvette at launch.

About 2009 the VXR8 changed to the 6.2 LS3 Which is the engine found in the 2008 - present day C6 corvette (they brought out the new engine halfway through the C6 corvette's model year)

Thanks for the comments guys. It'll be a week or so yet before I get her properly. She's being fully machined polished and detailed then its off to Monkfish for a Wortec exhaust and to be undersealed.

So in the mean time have some of the dealer shots until Phate gets some proper pictures for me.

It's been a very long time coming this, nigh on impossible to find a standard red VXR. Ah well just over a week left. I'm expecting serveral tanks worth of usage in the first day.

My new car picked up this week. R26 with 17K on the clock. 260 BHP

Really wanted an Exige S but couldnt justify the cost to mrs nathan. She wants a new kitchen and bathroom!

However, the RS meg is a nice step up from the cup.
