Show Us Your Motors!

Why so soon, you just had the sound system sorted too.

Had it since May last year, sorted the sound system in June

Bought it as a “one car which does all” - practical, sporty enough, quick, comfortable.

At the time, my girlfriend couldn’t drive, but she’ll be passing her test soon, so we bought a fiesta.

This will be our practical car which we can put the miles on.

I’m then going to get a Boxter S, which will be my car :-)

Bought this sucker in the most stress-free car buying experience of my life (not sure if calling out the dealer is cricket but it is noteworthy since Alfa's dealer network isn't highly thought of). There was one available car in the country that met my search criteria, so from Sheffield I did 30 minute walk, 30 minute tram, 3 hour train, 20 minute (cancelled) train, 2 hours sitting around, eighty quid uber, landing in Brighton eight hours after I set off then a leisurely four hour drive home. Weather hasn't let me get properly acquainted yet but there will be sunny days ahead. Car was not cheap, nontheless worth every penny.

Love it, Alfa have some superb colours! :)
Is it on the Pzero PZ4 or the semi slick, Trofeo R I think? If the latter be very careful in colder wet conditions as it is a very unforgiving tyre as it is designed for dry track use.

Nice Tezmo!!! Another Alfa driver, although I'm a tier down from you and Gibbo, in a Veloce. I do like Montreal Green, if I were to upgrade into a QV it would be that or Etna Red.

I would advise reading up on the security issues with the radar port, there have been a fair few QVs stolen via this method and only takes 30 seconds to steal.

Also don't kang the wheels because there's no known colour code for the wheels that match.

Upgraded to an i3s 120Ah as I got fed up with the low range and the low charging speed on my wallbox with my 2016 60Ah.
It was between this and a Mk7.5 GTI but the lack of fuel & servicing costs swung it in the end. Very much enjoying the i3 experience so just went with a newer and slightly more powerful one :)

This thieves literally steal these cars in less than thirty seconds, it is so easy!

Simply knock radar cover off, connect to canbus and unlock car, get in and code a new key, drive away!

Measures of defence are:
- disconnect battery (cost nothing)
- park car forwards against a wall so can’t access front of car (cost nothing)
- Get a disk lock for steering wheel (£150 probably delays them by 1-2 mins)
- Get a shield for the port behind the cover (£150 but needs bumper removed to fit)
- Get a separate immobiliser (£500 is fitted by a professional)

Please protect it otherwise it will be gone!

Thank you all for the nice Quad comments! @Mekrel @Gibbo I am fairly familiar with this on the strength of its long thread on Alfa owner forum. Steering wheel lock if it’s parked for any length of time in a car park, garaged at night, if they still get it hey, it’s insured. And I am a rims guy, I will not be smashing these wheels up! Having said that my previous giulia got some rim damage courtesy of stoneacre when fitting new tyres……

You are right about the p zero corsas, you can tell what a hard compound it is just to the touch, and even in A mode in weather like we’ve had recently, you can feel the traction kick in when setting off from a standing start. Caution needed!

@Draeger @Dyson @ShiWarrior those Italians certainly can make a good looking automobile!

@Mekrel this is my third Giulia, speciale first, then veloce, now this. I heartily endorse making the switch but what I would say is there is more power here than I can use without seeking out an opportunity to do so. Commute and general taking care of business is quite frustrating because the car wants to go but general travel is so woefully inside her capability. Honestly when you actually find a road that lets her stretch her legs, the power delivery, the thump in the back on upshift and crackling from the exhaust, it’s intoxicating! Though even just tootling along at 40 the powertrain has a hugely satisfying burble to it. It’s only been 300 miles and I love this car.
