***Sid Meier's Civilization VII***

I'm not sure about this, watched some videos and got me thinking, maybe the first CivGame in the whole franchise I may not buy straight away. Sort of reminds me of crusader games or was it old world. I may get it but I'm not hooked with the way it's changing, I think maybe civ6 started this change?
Will be interesting to see how the changes actually play out, always a tough situation for a long time game series, dont change and people online scream that the game series hasnt changed and is just the same thing in a new skin, change too much and people online scream that its too different, change just about the right amount and people online will scream about something else...bottom line, people online like to scream about stuff :D

Yeah was stoked for this on the announcement, but just not feeling it from the various videos of game features and play changes.

I was very wary about some of the changes, watched some dev streams on it and it reduced how wary I was and increased how curious I was to see how it plays, I'm interested to play it now, the one thing I can usually guarantee a Civ title is nailing that Just One More Turn feel, if Civ 7 can retain that then all will be good with me :)

Quill has a series of videos covering it too which are worth a watch, I believe that Raptor is also streaming it currently (though I dont find Raptors videos on strategy games too useful as he is so damned awful at playing them :) )

It bugs me that even when paying for the Foundation edition, we'll be missing the "modern" post cold war era at launch. In other words, it'll take another paid DLC ( ? how much ) to get the full game. This edition of Civ is looking like pure greed from the publisher ( 2K ).

An egregious cash grab.

That's pretty much confirmed no Civ 7 for me till it's on offer with some DLC as a more 'complete' game.

I could understand if an expansion covered the future but civ really needs to come up to the 'current day' at launch not the 1950's!

wasa there ever a civ game that didnt go to robots and lasers
They all go to the current level of tech but not to futuristic stuff, so depends what you mean by robots, if you mean robotics in factories making cars then yes the previous civs went that far, if you mean 50ft tall combat robots then no, not all previous civs went that far :D

I feel like with Civ VI I watched too many let's plays before playing it myself and thus missed out on experiencing it fresh for the first time when I played, so I will be mostly avoiding that this time around.

Yeah this is a weird one. IT looks like civ, smells like civ, but is it quite a change to get used to.....
I hope i can be arsed to "relearn" how to play civ. Im genuinely worried ill just put it on the back burner.
Hope the multiplayer is decent, me and mrs Efour are quite prone to wasting a whole day together playing vs AI.

So.... Im worried this is a gonna not be a huge success :(
