I'm really getting excited now. Day one purchase for me :D

ive been thinking about this and i believe thats a bit strong. From the out set it looks great, battlefield but much much larger. Visibly large teams and a great idea of teamwork. From watching certain videos and reading various articles it seems so like you will maybe only ever really see the other 11 or so people in your group. As opposed to seeing the 100 or so people on your team. If this is the case it will be a REAL let down for me

I'm pretty sure it starts off as small squad based battles that increase in size as you move further up the frontline ultimately leading to a head on climax of 128 vs 128...or that's what I remember reading.

Signed up earlier today, thanks. I'm getting the feeling that the game's name may get changed closer to release date to LAG :D

I've already taken part in the closed beta. I'm excited about the fact the servers will be live again tomorrow. I've seen enough to know that I want it, but I can't give anymore information than that. Damned NDA. Even during the public beta I'm not allowed to discuss the game!

Ah cool. For me that is really the only selling point. Seeing 12 guys drop from a helicopter then meeting up with another 30 para guys or something like that while taking orders etc. If its like that and its done well could be a really intense and thrilling expierience

I've not seen anything like that. You're in your group of 8? but are aware of other squads. This is how they're keeping the lag down, by only showing you the parts of the battlefield you're involved in. You can only hear your squadmates and squad leader. The squad leaders can communicate with each other and another higher ranked officer.

see thats how i thought it was after seeing some videos etc, which to me, is a let down. I really want to feel involved in this all out brawl and for that i want to be storming in with 100 other people some where. Dday styles

No, he was right, it slowly culminates into an epic 256-man finale.
I cannot wait to come over that hill for the first time...

In a way, the concept is very simple. Zipper takes that scary number of players, breaks it down into something friendly and familiar - squads of eight facing off in 16-player struggles for an objective or two - and then builds it up again. 16-player skirmishes segue smoothly into 32-player firefights as squads converge. Then 32 players become 64 as attackers and defenders move on from subsidiary to primary objectives. Then you look over a hill, or a building, and see the mirror image of the battle you're fighting on the other side of the map. Then it happens again.

Right, now that sounds better. Whens the actual release of this? Is it download only ? Also when do we find out if we were one of the lucky ones to get picked for beta playing ?
