Siliconslave's how to make espresso thread

Yea, I'd agree that when you get over the novelty of grinding coffee, spending 2-3 minutes cranking a hand grinder is the last thing you wanna be doing every morning.

I don't think you need to splurge £100+ quid on a grinder unless you're going for espresso though. A cheap electric burr grinder like a Krups Expert (£35ish) is all you need for Aeropress/v60.

slackers - i've been using my porlex mini for drip coffee grinds daily for about 6 months (the big drawback with having the Iberital MC2 set for espresso...)

I've been hand grinding every week day for the last 3 1/2 years. Only do 18g at a time so it's not that bad, although when away I take my Chemex which wants a lot more than 18g . I've recently changed from a Zassenhaus to a Porlex, and whilst it isn't as comfortable to grind the beans, the result is very good.
My Eureka Mignon gives my arms a rest at the weekend.

Given in and ordered an Aeropress. I looked into Nespresso but it would be too much money at on average 50p for a double each day would soon add up.
Plus if im being honest i prefer a long drink not a shot. So i think the aeropress should give me the best filter coffee. Got a hand grinder as well and will use fresh beans, something like Rave. I see Costco sell beans as well.

Running out of beans :( Rave sent my order on Monday but still not here yet, anyone else still waiting?

Me too. Can't really complain as its free delivery. I'm hoping I get mine tommorrow otherwise I will run out over the weekend & I will have to go to the local coffee shop to buy some, I'm not keen on buying them there as I don't know how old the beans are in that shop. :(

O that Krups Expert looks great!

Not willing to pay £100+ on a grinder yet, especially as the coffee maker was £25!

The kirkland branded stuff from costco is dire, yes I've tried it. Still have loads left and they are only useful for seasoning new burrs, but you never know you might like them.

Also I'm fitting a pressure guage to the front panel on my GC as I'm going to do a dimmer preinfusion mod. Just like this:
