Siliconslave's how to make espresso thread

Well I've just put my Xmas order in with Rave & free delivery on a 350g bag of Sumatran. Thanks to whoever posted their twitter feed.

Just put my first order in with Rave too. Still got to get through my Red Brick from Square Mile. The Cult of Espresso from Workshop Coffee was lovely.
There is life after HasBean :).

I'll check that one out :)

Pour over wise you don't need a kettle for a clever dripper as it holds the water in to allow for submersion brewing... its not quite pour over exactly but gives much the same result without the faff. If you want to try proper pour over grab a v60, they can come in seriously cheap (until you add a kettle...)

I don't need a screen... but its very tempting, trust me the details if you don't mind?

Whoops only just saw your reply. Unfortunately both group buys have been very successful the IMS screen filled up within a day.

I didn't like it when I tried it in their new place near Oxford Circus 3 weeks ago. Maybe it was just me, though I went in Kaffeine earlier that day & the flat white I drank in there was excellent.

new coffee from Rave.

I have signed up to Pact. El Retiro Coffee is nice enough (Hazlenuts). I'm lloking forward to trying something a bit sweeter next. Anyone else getting coffees from Pacts?

I got a bag of Finca La Montaña from Pact recently and its been really nice, unfortunately its also now discontinued, the first bag i had from them was a bit meh but this ones been much better....

thanks for the heads up majnu - got a couple of bags ordered :)

I tried them a year or so ago on a promotion but I couldn't find a coffee from them that I liked, so I didn't continue the subscription.

I'm currently on a weekly subs to Pacts.

It's good coffee, but I'm new to the whole coffee thing. Still prefer the two blends I've had from Hasbean though.

Might cancel and try a few other places now though.

Just seen this on amazon;

Hario is a good make, and cermaic burr good buy?

That was the first grinder I had. It's great but hand-grinding does get tedious even for a weekend drinker like me! I upgraded to a Baratza Encore which suits my (Aeropress) needs perfectly. If you really can't afford an electric burr grinder then the Hario is one to go for :)
