Siliconslave's how to make espresso thread

I think a fair amount of people do but only because it's traditional. The reality is that an AP gives much better and consistent results.

Dad bought me a Delonghi KG79 for my birthday. First time grinding my own coffee so not really sure what to expect grind wise, but I selected somewhere in the middle of coarse and grind which seemed ok for an Aeropress?

Also some of this arrived. Probably only chosen because it was on Amazon but it was really nice!

For espresso gadgets (had thought your link might have been this) dragon was on the tv recently.
I only caught show a couple of times but machine was accepted at a pro barista event, cost probably exorbitant

Also, when I had a silvia was considering the meCoffee pid install that gives you blue-tooth/phone control for programming your machine - this could be a sensible use of bluetooth (well Internet of things) versus making your fridge or washing machine connected

I don't think you’ll be disappointed. I bought a bag of Dr. Strangelove blend 5 months ago & a fair few places in Bristol & the south west use their beans. This blend I drank (a flat white) in a Deli in Clifton Village about a month ago, was one of the best coffees I've drunk all year & this includes a visit to the London Coffee festival.

Just finished my second cup.

Brewed using an Aeropress, approx 18g of beans I guess (ground using a Porlex grinder) and left to brew for about 10mins, I prefer the flavour to a short 50 sec brew.

I have a latte type drink, Aeropress almost filled to the top.

Lovely rich and smooth taste, I can imagine it would be even better using an espresso machine.

My favourite beans so far have been Rave Fudge Blend and Squaremile Redbrick.
I seem to prefer blends these days, I think it gives the roaster more freedom than just a single farm.

To rate them properly I'd need to do a side-by-side comparison, but I'd put the Extract Espresso and Rave Fudge Blend equal top, both have what I call a "chewable flavour" :D

Slight emergency. I've run out of Aeropress filters, I must get some before my 4 day weekend! Does anyone know what coffee shops in central London sell them? I remember seeing the AP itself at Notes for example, but not sure about filters. Annoyingly I have Amazon Prime but you can only buy them as an add-on. HasBean would cost £1.50 to ship... :o

Wow, you said it. They're a 20min walk from my work but I thought I'd call them to check they have them. They're £6! I could order them from HasBean and pay for delivery to get them cheaper. That said, I'm just adding random things to my Amazon now to get Prime delivery :o

eep, that is a little overpriced! Does the amazon pre-order trick still work?
