So have been trying some of Small Batch coffee's Guatemala Santa Ana La Huerta and am not really sure what to make of it. The beans seem to be very muted in terms of flavour in a latte so I am wondering if this a bean better suited to filter or maybe straight up espresso (although I just haven't managed to find a bean that I like straight up). I'm not sure if I was expecting so much more from it as it sounded like it fits my taste profile being a bit more fruity rather than the usual nutty/chocolately taste profiles (which I like now and again but I do get really excited by the more unusual flavours - I know thats not to everyone's taste)
Maybe I will have to try some of the other beans to compare.
I always love the more mental coffee's (including naturals) from in my mug and I know Steve gets a lot of flak for these as they are an unusual taste but I just love exploring these more unusual and interesting coffee's. That's not to say that I have enjoyed all of them (not too fond of the red wine/boozy tasting beans) but love the more exotic flavours and always love it when a blueberry tasting coffee comes up.
So can anyone recommend something that will peak my interest that isn't from has bean. Am off to London in a couple of weeks for a week's training course so need to sort out a decent coffee shop(s) to visit. Will be near old street tube station.
