Silo - By Hugh Howey - May 5th

Kind of Fallout-y vibes, which I love. The oppressive government types erasing history and the mantra is a little hamfisted, but I'll keep watching.

Did anyone else catch:

When the power went off the screen flickered to the 'green / real' image of outside.
It’s hard to tell what’s happening with that
when the sheriff went outside he saw the green, real world but not seemed like he did start choking / dying in “real” vision as well as on the screen the people in the silo see.

My guess is that the air supply in the suit is poisoned. The helmets seem locked on and the gloves were sealed with tape.

Excellent third episode, I think this is one of the few book adaptations where the changes really have kept it fresh without being silly, so far at least. Loved the use of the inception spinning top too :D - I'm staying out of that spoiler discussion lmao...

Having watch ep3 last night I'd disagree with the silly bit, the whole fix the turbine thing really triggered my inner 'that's not how those things work' and 'why didn't they do build it like this' parts of my brain. I can suspend my disbelief for a lot of things in TV/Film but magically changing how things work in the real world is not one of them.

Yes, it appeared a few may of noticed it too so will be interesting to see if that is questioned in coming episodes.

Has anyone gone back to see when it turned green if the bodies are there?

Not the sort of silly I meant to be fair, more that they hadn't shoehorned in any agenda stuff rather than the usual real world physics versus tv/film physics that is in everything.

Ah, my mistake, apologises. :)

Although i too wasn't really talking about real world physics versus tv/film physics either to be fair. :) I could go on for pages about how steam doesn't work like that, how you can't just hammer away at turbine blades without unbalancing things, how the heck a turbine spins with half the casing removed, why they don't have a backup turbine, or even a bypass vent but i won't because all that would take the thread way OT. :D

Not really your mistake, I didn't exactly spell it out lol, but yes, everything you say is all down to real world physics, I've learnt to largely ignore the absolute state of it in films and tv otherwise I'd never enjoy watching anything :D

Hopefully the writers strike concludes without killing the next season, though to be fair there weren't many casualties from the last one tbf.
