Silo - By Hugh Howey - May 5th

One thing I'm finding with this series most of the major roles are typecast - if you've seen the actors in other stuff you pretty much know what they are going to do or say before they do it :s it is an advantage in some ways as it immediately brings the characters to life but in other ways works against the immersion a little bit.

Finding it a bit mixed so far, some excellent stuff, some feels a bit ham fisted to borrow a term from another poster.

As long as the show doesn't end with more questions than answers I think it'd have done a good job though I don't think they've quite gotten the vertical society perfect as I think it's being a bit too kind in that regard.

Watched the first two and yes the twatting things with a wrench or hammer kills all immersion sometimes. You have a skinny woman with the biceps of a ant and a big wrench that can torque up something to 500n. Eeeeshhhhhhhh stop it TV studios.

The books ties up the strands quite well as far a I can remember. They were self published in 9 parts, which were published as 3 books. No idea how many of the parts/books they intend per series, but will need minimum 3 series to provide substance to the world.

Yes but she's fit...

How much torque do you think she can apply by hanging on it like 60n?
When you want to check the calibration of a torque wrench at home you basically just hang weights off it on a piece of string right?

seems like the show is moving too slow though when there's only 10eps

This is a good series so far, though Episode 4 seemed to have a slower pace than previous episodes. I think this will be like Season 1 of Sweet Tooth where I'm like "Where's the rest?!"

Episode 1 was awesome.

Episode 2 is giving me Snow piercer vibes and that's a really bad thing.

Episode 3 was cringe.. but hooray.

It's good, but I really hope there's answers and not a hang on for another series to milk it.

No chance of all the answers coming in this series, it'll need three to cover the books the way they are going, one for each book, unless they do it a massive disservice.

The books are well worth reading and typically the show is changing things for no apparent reason which has me a little concerned, some of it is purely for book to tv adaptation reasons, some of it however simply has me scratching my head at the moment.

If the season end is just a shot of whoever reveals the mystery at the
bottom
without actually showing what 'it' is... I will be very annoyed.

Stuggling with this one.

The plot pacing and general bittyness is making it a tough watch, the main character is also just not exactly enjoyable. Have a feeling a lot of the side plots and character introductions are just not going to lead to anything.

Ep 4 was a snoozefest.
But I guess it can't be exploration and reveals all the time, we need some meh.

I think I'm gonna get the audiobooks for working over summer. I've got a great schedule and plenty of time alone I can "read"

I've seen the first two episodes so far, quite enjoyed them, but I expect I'll take my time before getting around to watching the next one.

I think they're going to drip-feed the rest of the season (the last 2 episodes have been very slow) and leave it on a cliffhanger based on the titles of the remaining episodes.

Nothing happens in this show, about 4 people live in the silo apart from all the extras.

snoozefest.

also some random mechanic, perfect replacement for a sheriff job because some ex mayor says so.
lolworthy
It's like Bezos stepping down and saying his replacement is going to be some random guy who works as an order picker, and everyone high up just goes along with it.
don't worry they can just learn on the job self taught
