Silverstone 2012

This is why I've never bothered to invest in a decent camera, there will always be someone else out there with better kit and better skills who will take better photos than I ever could.

Great shots!

Anyone sat at Farm Curve? Would like to know where abouts in the stand I am with Q 250.

Hoping for nearer to the pits and high up!

Not sure about exact location but all the stands start at A on the front row so you should definitely be high up.

Posted this in the race thread but thought I'd post here incase anyone missed it, a video I took yesterday of FP2.

What a weekend!

This is the second year running we've done the Stowe Lakeside Constructors Lounge hospitality package.

Saturday we hired a minibus for £250 to take the 10 of us to the track in 2 runs (some where ready at 7, others 8:30). The 7 O'clock crew got straight into the VIP parking at the east entrance but our pickup at 8:45 took slightly longer. We got into the track at 10:10 and got the hospitality shuttle to the constructors lounge.

We headed straight out to the grandstand and had Tiff Needell sat behind us (he got a bit more drunk throughout the rest of the day and was trying to get noticed by people!). Tiff Needell

The free beer, wine and champagne makes it a great day even if it did pee it down something cronic! Excellent food and service again and if you can I would certainly recommend it!

Poor show in the qualifying for the brits but we still enjoyed the spectacle of qualy.

We left the hospitality suite at 5pm and our minibus driver had waited all day in a car park for us! The hospitality suites poured over 12,000 bottles of champagne on Saturday alone!

We had a hotel in Newport Pagnell so went out for an Indian in the evening, with reviews like this. If it's good enough for Danni it's good enough for us we thought. Service was terrible and Newport Pagnell came off as a bit of dump tbh, lots of drunk teens.

Sunday morning we left the hotel at 6:55 and drove straight to the circuit. Traffic was good and we sailed up to the east entrance car park and wound our way in. We dreaded parking in the grass but we were directed to park with our car about 2 foot from the road so not far to push / pull if we got stuck!

Again the shuttle was excellent and we were sat down having our VIP buffet breakfast by 8:10am. Breakfast Nom Noms.

Sundays celeb spot was Rowan Atkinson, he looked to be having a great time and as a true petrol head he was more than welcome!

We watched the GP3, GP2 and Porsche Super Cup races popping in each time for more tea/coffee, beer/champagne and pastries! With lunch at 11:30 we headed out to get our seat in the grandstand. The corporate stand is un-reserved so you have to go early to get your seat, we were out at 12:20 to claim our spot! Being infront of the pit entry you get really close to the cars as they do practice launches and of course the Caterham that blew up just in front of us!

After the race we went back inside for afternoon tea and a final beer before heading home at 4pm. Shuttled back to the car park all 4 of our cars easily pulled off the parking onto the road. Traffic was expectedly heavy but flowed well. I made it home at 6:10pm and was pleased to get home to see my 8 month old son and my wife. I can't wait until Matthew is old enough to go the F1 with his daddy :D

Afterparty track invasion was fun. Wandering down the main straight whilst all the teams were packing down!
Another night in Woodlands campsite (providing we can get the cars out tomorrow!) - will be nice to sleep in a proper bed after a nice shower tomorrow night. I'm exhausted :p

Fun weekend though, but just mad with the weather. Mudbath everywhere. Been pushing a few cars out, including a range rover driven by a drunk guy trying to pull someone else out!

Nice community spirit from most of the people I've encountered, heard there was trouble in the main parking following the race though?

Yeah there was.

I was parked by 7am in one of the large Tarmac car parks, however the first one they had done bumper to bumper parking. The marshalls told us they were just parking cars normally in this one so we didn't need to be back at a certain time.

My brother popped back to the car to get something after the race and the car park was now totally blocked by cars that had filled in all the lanes so nobody could move. There were some people who were even trying to lift up cars to try and move them, crazy!
