Silverstone Fortress FT02B-W Owners, Your thought's please!!!

I wouldn't stress over the psu mate mine isn't a very long psu and its sits in the case just fine, isnt blocked by the hole, anyway couldn't the psu be flipped round so it just extracts air from within the case.

It will work fine, mine is the same size.

It wont fit perfectly over the whole in the back of the case but there is a small gap between the PSU and case, so the PSU will get enough ventilation.

I can take a picture when I get home tnight if that helps?

you can also see other pictures of my build on that flikr page.

Nah thats the 1 downside I will give you, but saying that I have never had to use the gap. I always test build systems outside of the case first then put it into the case.

Yeah the case blocks off a small part of the PSU fan but I haven't noticed it being an issue. It's a great case and I'm sure you'll be happy with it. One thing I would say is that the fans aren't quite as quiet as I was expecting based on what people say. To say they are near inaudible at low setting is a bit of an exaggeration and they are really quite loud on high speed setting.

Having said that, on low setting they are still noticeably quieter than the fans in my CM-690II were and push a heck of a lot more air. Plus, the noise they make is much more natural, I heard fan whine from the 690 whereas the only noise from the FT02 fans is the air they are pushing. I'm very impressed with the case and I'm sure you'll like it too.

I contacted silverstone about the usb 3.0 kit and this is there response:

Hi Robert,

Yes, the USB 3.0 port will be available at the beginning of August.
It is easy to fit it on the case.
The purchasing price is 20, 00 Euro.
Pls send me your delivery address and telephone number, we'll send you a quotation.

Bargain then (depending on shipping of course). :)

Question is, do I wait till they are fitted as standard?

Also, how easy are the hot swap SATA adaptors to fit? And how much are they? Would love the idea of just being able to slide in HDDs as I see fit. :)

I have 4 of the hot swap adapters in mine. I think I got them for around £9 each and they are really simple to fit (2 min job). Two screws attach it to the back of the HDD bay, connect the SATA and that's it. Just pop a hard drive in to one of the HDD trays and slide it in.

Massively useful as I'm always swapping HDDs with my other machines to transfer data.

Awesome, I think I'll order some prior to getting the case.

I see SSD drives mounted on back of the motherboard tray, is this the normal place for them?

I have a VelociRaptor 150 at the moment so I assume it will go into a normal slot, but I would be looking at getting a SSD before the end of the year.

The case comes with an SSD adapter to fit it to the back of the mobo tray and that's where I fitted mine.

My mobo came with a USB 3.0 front panel adapter with the capacity to add an SSD too so when I get another one it will go there. Also my SSD came with an adapter to fit it into a normal HDD tray so it could go into a hot swap bay too if you wanted.

Another benefit of the hot swap adapters is that they have pass through power connectors so you can power all your HDD's from one cable, keeps it looking nice and tidy .

you can find the hot swap addaptors for about £5 without delivery.

Im ordering one with my next HDD that I get, as said above because its powered by a molex you dont have to drag another power cable from your PSU across to the other side of the case.

It just keeps getting better and better, I'll finally have a case and have it all hooked up in a way I can be proud off. I can't wait. :)

I see there is another version of the rv03 coming out and they have sorted out the horrible gold colour on the front.

I've ended up going with the RV02W-EW Evolution since i couldn't source a silver ft02S-W.
