Silverstone Fortress FT02B-W Owners, Your thought's please!!!

Yeah that's what i was considering. I already watercooled it once using a 120.1 up in the top, but i might put either a 180.2 or 2x 180.1s in the bottom. I'll leave the first one under the HDDs.

I owned one of these for 18 months and while being a very decent case I did feel the cable management couldve been better myself. It is however a very quiest case with brilliant air cooling, but very heavy and i found difficult to get the side panels on and off.

With regards to the fan noise, it is quite loud (though it isn't an irritating noise) when the fans are on max.... but I've never had to have them at max. Infact I run them as low as I possibly can with a fan controller and they still keep the case temperatures nicely enough :).

I've never regretted buying this case, and I hope it serves me for many more years yet.

I'll admit the cable management is a... um... "challenge"? Especially when it is full of hard drives :).

Anyone not using the SSD tray as in this pic want to sell me it or trust me a link on where to pick one up.

Bump for this outstanding case.

Currently got a 280X mining 24/7 in it, so 100% GPU load. The card is sat at 74 degrees.
I have another rig mining in my garage, which is pretty much as cold as it is outside. That GPU is at 71 degrees. Very impressive if you ask me.

Bumpage!

Still a great case even though i've swapped to a 750d for the time being. I need some parts for mine as the panels got battered when the case took a tumble :( Contacted silverstone about replacements, should be interesting to see how much these cost.. Hopefully to be used again when i go back to air cooling on my next build, whenever that is.

it's a pity the ft05 never really addressed some of the issues with the ft02, namely the amount of space behind the motherboard tray for routing cables. Some rubber grommets and some more cable apertures would also give it a cleaner look

It is without a doubt the best case i have ever owned.

Three years later and it looks as clean inside as the day I received it.

The 90 degree rotation is great for heavy cards.

The cable management is a bit of a pain alright but it had just about enough room.

How did your case fall Gerard?

Was actually the panel fell off my desk and collided with a cordless drill i had sitting to the side of me on a box, gashed the panel pretty badly and dented it while taking off a chunk of paint. The other panel has chipping paint around the top edges which seems to be very common with these and as a result of cables has a permanent bulge to it so i'd prefer to get them replaced.

Would have preferred a silver windowed ft02 but no uk stockist seemed to have them at the time, or since. Though according to silverstone their euro offices do have them in stock, they just don't seem to be ordered much for some reason. If they're looking a daft amount of money for panels i might just see how much a silver version would cost. Probably harder wearing than the black which seems to mark very easily.

It is STILL the best case available on the market, imo. Quality is absolutely top notch. I've had mine 4 years, and when I get a new machine I'll get another one unless Silverstone release something better.

Nothing else compares.

Yup, ft05 was their latest iteration, looks ok but they sacrificed a lot of storage area in it. ft02 is literally a wind tunnel for cooling :).

Im still running my Silverstone FT02-WRI which I had since 2010 , prior to that I had a Silverstone TJ-04 with Side Window Mod.

However I will be shortly be changing cases to a Fractal R5 in White as soon as a supplier gets them in stock.

Guess it is time to move on from Silverstone cases as nothing on their current range appeals to me at all.

Still have my special edition also, great case....but it's to big for a main rig I think.

Using the Fractal ARC Midi R2 for this, great case for my water cooling build.
Managed to fit 2 big radiators in it, so it has a lot of room for its size.

Love Fractal's design philosophy

why change ? any other case is a downgrade

Bit bored and yeah it is very heavy and a tad too big. but mainly fancy a change.

Also want to go double rad closed water loop (eg H100i) for the CPU and the FT-02 can only handle a single 120mm on top.

I have a Scythe Kaze Master Fan Controller as well and a DVD Writer , but i will get rid of both for the Fractal R5
