Silverstone Fortress FT02B-W Owners, Your thought's please!!!

Hi,

Just tried to have a look for this info.

The graphics card might be a push can fit 12 inches. and your GFx card is 305mm so just over 12 inches. (will measure this when I get home and confirm)

No idea about the screws. sorry.

I have a couple of questions for the Fortress / Raven owners :

How restrictive is the top grill ? , and are you concered about the airflow from the back bracket of nvidia 5xx series cards ?

The reason im asking is because the panel is there technically it might become a restriction for the gfx exhaust , the reviews i have read simply dont say anything about this aspect .

Thankyou
Tim

Looking at the Silverstone Raven 2 RV02W-EW for a new build as this case is very good for air cooling, all my builds have been red and black but this time it`s going to be blue and white :)

Haha

Well... let me tell you the story of my build.

First, I was still living in the UAE when i started ordering parts. Everything arrived and i was good to go, although I left out the WC stuff as i wasn't sure how much space i had to work with.

So I get back, start sticking stuff in, and turns out the Radiator doesn't fit. never mind, i ordered another one. that was a thursday about 5pm, so naturally it doesnt turn up until Monday.

Radiator arrives, perfect fit. Amazing. Finalise my loop route, then put an order in for the hose, compression fittings and reservoir. Bought these from another etailer, didnt want to pay for postage cause im cheap so fast forward 3 days when this stuff arrives.

awesome. start sticking things in. Oh noes, what's this? My 3/4" OD Compression Fittings don't fit on the CPU block i've bought. Joyous. So i ordered another, Plexi-Copper EK HF, But again it's thursday, so i have to wait until monday. So yesterday (tuesday) i finally have all my parts, everything fits, it looks amazing. No kidding. Start filling her up. 2 hours later, it's silent as a mouse. I cant believe how awesome this looks. Grab my red and black Xilence 120mm that matches my awesome red and black case, throw it on the rad, stick the screws in. one turn, two turns... PSssssssssssssssss

Water going everywhere. I dump the power to the pump, but the pressure is still pumping water out of the radiator.

At this point i've spent over £260 on the loop, and it's just a 120.1 for the CPU. And i've just punched a hole through my 2nd radiator, so that's another £30 out the window.

So... um... i kind of, in a bit of a huff, ripped everything out and put it on the MM. I ordered a silver arrow.

sorry guys :/

On a brighter note, you can buy all my crap in the MM ;)

ROFL
Sorry to laugth DC but sounds like about as much fun as I've just had with my new HTPC project.
By the time I finaly had everything working I wanted to throw myself from a tall building :D

Yeah it was a nightmare. I just couldnt bring myself to spend ANOTHER £30 on a piece of WC gear.

Sorry to hear that DC, i feel for you. I can imagine how fustrating it is after spending the time and money and you still never got the setup you wanted. :(

Hehe it's not so bad. I mean I could have just bought another rad and it would have been fine but i guess at some point you have to draw a line and say "im obviously too retarded to own this".

I'll post a pic with the Silverarrow but it wont be as interesting.

Not sure if you guys would like to now but I got a quote from silverstone for the USB 3.0 upgrade kit.

Came to just over 43 bloody Euros. No thanks. think Im going to mod the back bracket I got with my mobo.

lol
