Silverstone ft02

I agree, non-windowed version is the way to go I reckon. Not sure if OcUK will get them in though as they were hard to come by even with the original fortress.

I'm still so tempted by one of these, I have a HAF922 and although I love it to bits for its air cooling, I would rather have something a bit sleeker in terms of looks.

The FT02 looks like it's cooling solution could work well, maybe not quite as well as the HAF though and I like how tidy it looks.

Am I willing to spend so much on it though? I'm not so sure.

My reply for OC webnote on the 28th Nov

Dear Mr X,

Need nice shiny case, must buy.

Wonder why they decided as the same internal setup as the raven? Can't say i like the look of that at all, The 5970 may fit but if cards get any longer (which going by past history they will) then forget about the next x2 card from amd fitting.

It can officially take 12" cards according to silverstone rep. How long is the 5970 or Fermi likely to be ?

A mate has the raven fitted with 3x5870's in an EVGA classified and it cools them no bother. The bottom fans bring in cool air cooling the cards, and the hot air not exhausted by the cards, narurally rises out of the case. And he has a Corsair H50 exhausting out. His temps are as good/better than my rig.

I do like the look of the case and layout. But its the price thats holding me back.

Edit

Webnote from OcUK

I have been keen on this case also have just spotted on sale in the UK at £200!! Im not sure i can close my eyes and hit the buy button on that price. Hopefully ocuk can do better.

Really cant decide between silver or black on this.

I just ordered mine!! Black, no window. Hopefully they are not telling porkies about stock, and will have it in a couple of days. Will be my last upgrade until Fermi next year. :D

As soon as I get it I will post pics for sure. Hopefully it comes Friday, if it ships tommorrow. And I'll post followup pics with my rig inside it.

I heard the 180mm fans are now permanent 700rpm jobs. No fan speed control. At least that's what the silverstone guy said at CompuTex 2009. At least some US sites sell more powerful Silverstone 180mm's. Be handy as spares.
