Silverstone ft02

The 3 fans have 3 pins M/B heads, but you get a molex adaptor for all 3 (which is what I used). And they are directly wired into the High / low switches.

As for the 2 PCi-E cables being routed behide the M/B. a) There is not a lot of space round the back for cables. b) i think it will block (not a lot) the fan air flow.

Ordered the black window model last night + a 1000W Corsair PSU will be delivered Monday morning.
Will post pics of window version next week.

No worries mate. Anyway, my case shipped and will be with me Monday. Hopefully the CorsairHX 1000 will be a good fit in this case and the flat cables will help with cable management as I need to sort 4 drives, 2 opticals, and 2 gpu's.

Just got one of these beasties myself... VERY impressed. Never had a Silverstone case before but build quality is superb.

It is not silent but it is quiet. The noise isn't very invasive at all and is leaps and bounds above (in terms of airflow) the case I had before.

Not much space for 'anything goes' wiring behind the motherboard (with Corsair's flat cables) but I think I've done a reasonable job - even with a smidgen of panel bend.

If anyone's interested, I could post some shots tomorrow (the pub calls right now) - don't really want to take the 'back' side panel off just in case it doesn't go back on as it came off but if I have to... :)

You'd think they could have designed the case with a "channel" of sorts to get the pci-e connectors out of the way of the fans. Thermally id imagine the case is very good, the layout just looks odd and doesn't appeal to me much. I don't think its gonna do much for those that practically demand that visible cabling is at a minimum with the way the pci-e cables are strewn about.

Well my FT02 will be here Tuesday now it seems.

I am having 2nd thoughts about it though.

Right now my HAF 922 has excellent cable management and pretty decent cooling. I've added the optional 200mm sidefan. The desire for something less noise intrusive, good cooling and good looking led me to order the FT02. But I hear it's very difficult to get the sidepanel on if you have to cable manage 4 hd's on the back of the motherboard tray and an sli or crossfire setup. Plus all the pics I've seen show the gpu cables over the bottom fans instead of around the back of the motherboard tray. Also cables near the optical drives are pretty visible in most pics I've seen. And it looks quite messy underneath the psu area at the bottom of the case.

Has anyone managed to build a rig into this with current gen ati or nvidia cards and maintain good cable management ? I'm guessing the foam on the back of the left sidepanel makes it very difficult. I might just sent this case back and get a CM 840.

Yep the biggest down side is the Space for cables at the back. The Antec 300 has more. lol

But I think if you spent a bit more time, and some cable braiding you could make it look better to the eye.

As for the PCI-E cables you could cable tie them out of the way more. But mine are not covering the fans that much.

If you was confident about modifying your PSU cables and make them flatter then it would be better at the back.

I went for the PCI-E cables (HD4870) round the back approach... it's tight, very tight, but I'm happy enough with it. The panel is only ever so slightly bowed and I'm not going to worry about it. Mind you couldn't they have made the darn thing even just 1/2" wider? At £200, the thing should be perfect.

Anyway... piccie! I do concede it's not a brilliant image but it'll do.

Just to add a little more info, also round the back are cables for the SSD, the cables to the SATA hotswap doohickey and two DVD drives - although only one is connected to the motherboard courtesy of there not being enough space between the drive and the slots to get a connector in there... so I've left it where it is! :)

I may have another look at my cables see if I can do anything with them more. But Im not the sort of person who can sit for hours tinkering.

But I agree 1/2" more space and it would be perfect.

I wonder if I also need so many USB ports as they will make things look a bit nicer.

Me neither - but I stuck it out for about an hour or so of connecting, disconnecting, swearing and finally getting something that would do the job. I think the issue with my cables isn't so much the size (they're flat ones) but the connectors on them. I might, at some point, look into taking unused connectors off so it's basically a flat cable across the back all the way to the drives.

USB wise, the board I have has plenty of USB ports so I don't need to use the USB headers - with the exception of the connector for the top panel ports.
I'm also surprised at the lack of a speaker. Still, if it works, you don't need one! :)

I've never spent this much on a case before (hell, even the 4870 was cheaper!!!!) but on the whole, I am chuffed with it and not at all unhappy with shelling out £200+ for it.

What's strange is a friend of mine has an RV02 which I thought had the same layout inside as the FT02 except for the exta pci slot. Anyway he has 3 x 5870's and he has done an excellent job on cable management for the pci-e cables. I guess there is more room on the back of the mobo tray on the RV02.

Very nice.

Still waiting for mine. Ordered on 2nd. Was told it shipped on 3rd and would have it yesterday the latest, even though their website said it would be delivered on the 3rd and I paid 36 euro for delivery. Still no sign of it and can't get a tracking no. from them either.

Can I ring this etailer and tell them to take it back under distance selling regulations ? Bascially tell them to tell the courier to return it to them.
