Sim racers - what are you running?

Is there a noob friendly assetto corsa gt3 server?

I’ve been enjoying hot laps and found a good car and track combo in the Audi R8 lms in red bull ring. I do like imola too.

Wouldn’t mind joining some online races with similarly skilled drivers.

Ordered a few Simcore parts a few months ago and they finally arrived! Need to get some time to setup the DDU properly but it looks great quality.

Also need to figure out where to mount my Streamdeck XL that I bought to use instead of a button box.

@john_smith
Nice :) Is this going to be a purely manual sequential setup, or are you looking at adding a button plate/paddle shift to the R300 rim?
Initial plan is to play Automobilista 2 on some old cars. I contemplated buying the H pattern shifter from Fanatec but it's big and a little bit more expensive than the HE shifter i've gone for. I'm prepared to give up a tiny bit of realisim and have sequential shifting at this stage. I've got some reservations about fanatec build quality as well.

Another wheel and or a button box for the R300 will certainly come when I go back to iRacing. I got my 1st iR sub in Oct 2009 using a Logitech Driving Force Pro, that I still have :) I think I bought a life time sub for Live for Speed as well. Did the devs ever release it? it was on beta version .6 when I last used it. That would have been before 2009.

If it helps, I had a Frex shifter on the previous rig. Was very cool if a little industrial. Cheaper and less space than the Pro shifter thingy. There is another one that look a bit like a pipe bomb :D seems well regarded.

Another day at "work" and we have a functioning setup. Pedals need adjustment but it's close enought to be able to drive. Lots of FFB settings to be dialed in as well. Oh and a few hours on cable management.

Played for 10 mins, spun a few times. Serious motion sickness and I can still feel it several hours later. LOL, FML, etc.

Are you going to get some of those ASUS bezel-less kits? Or could always make your own ;)

Yes. I’d like them. Details on diy? Ty.

You can get the lens sheet from old broken LCD TV/monitors. The local household recycling centre should be a good source if like the one near me that has cages for people to dump old TVs in.

Motion sickness, is the rig on hydraulics

Motion sickness? Is the rig on hydraulics or move in some way?

No, it’s static. I’ve googled and it appears to be a common thing. There’s things I can do and it looks like over time the body will adjust.
Interesting, is this just with triples or sim racing in general? I didnt get motion sickness with an Oculus Rift CV2 playing Dirt rally. It was the only game I didnt get motion sickness! (due to being sat in a seat in game and real life)

I've never had it before, this is my 1st time with triples and my 1st time sim racing for years. I did another session this afternoon. No issues. So hopefully it was a one off.

Triples used to give me mild motion sickness when the FPS was too low.

I'm getting a nice high fps so I dont think it was that.
