Nice. Would the Playseat be suitable for DD? What’s the Thrustmaster DD?My setup, planning to upgrade to simucube or the new thrustmaster DD when it comes out
The latest R5 bundle looks great for the money too.
When are Logitech and Thrustmaster going to pull their finger out and release a DD base, wheel & pedals?

Like the look of the Moza R5 set but not the pedals, Wish Fanatec would sort their supply line out.
While waiting for my PC upgrade, its scary how much I'm considering spending on wheels pedals and sticks.

Yeah this playseat trophy is designed for DD. Even the high torque ones.
Thrustmaster announced that they are releasing a DD wheelbase this year

It’s an easy £5k investment to get into a rig from scratch

Couple of grand on a CPU/mobo/ram & GPU
Grand on a CSL DD and pedals with a couple of wheels
Grand plus on Virpil stick, throttle and rudder pedals
Then the messy bit either jerry rig it all onto my GT omega wheel stand/rear attachment and seat with 8020 bolted to it or spend big on a full 8020 rig.
I have G920 and X56 i'm using for now but you always want more.

Installed automobilista 2 yesterday and I can’t complete a clean lap in Imola.
Been happy with the Audi R8 in AC. But can’t get the handling in any of the gt3 cars in Automobilista 2.

Do you have info / link to info on the Thrustmaster DD wheelbase?

Ok, spent a bit more time and the Porsche is where I'm most comfortable. After a few clean laps I managed to get 36 on the Imola global leaderboard.
Still crashing it every so often causing me to restart the session since I didn't know damage is a thing for time trials.

I think the out of the box setups on AM2 need some work.
I've not had a chance to play yet but i've watched stuff and read stuff.
On my laps with various cars on the default setups I find I need to use much more steering lock than i'd expect.

Yeah that’s where I’m stuck. Don’t really know what all the different settings do!

Rigs changed quite a lot since I last posted. I’d love to go triple screens but until we move, I can’t really do it. This is my office so needs to stay primarily an office which it wouldn’t if I went triple screens. It’s a shame as it would be virtually perfect for me if I could in terms of having everything I’d want

Suppose I should post my current mess,
Started with this,
GT omega apex wheel stand and ikea chair with monitor mounts on the arms as HOTAS mounts, seat was too reclined and moved under braking unless i jammed the coffee table behind it.
So i upgraded to this.
GT Omega Wheel stand rear add on and seat with some butchered Profile bolted to it for HOTAS mounts, they are going to be moved back when i mate of mine is around so i can drill some holes in the frame, they are currently in the predrilled ones and my drill dead and ive been laid up with the plague for the last 2 weeks.
My plans are to get my PC upgrade once the release cycle is done and i can pick my new CPU/MOBO/GPU and ram, (I have a case cooler psu fans and SSDs that ive managed to get on deals while waiting).
Once thats done then I want:
CSL DD 8nm, round and GT wheel (probally WRC and MAclaren GT3), and CSL Pedals (with load cell), assuming they are ever in stock, I'm beginning to think it will never happen.
Virpil Warbrd base, Constellation Alpha Grip (maybe the prime) CM3 throttle.
Question after that is will it be OK on my current frame or do i have to go full 80-20. I am currently using my Racing pedals as Rubber pedals but would like a set of rudders.

The wheel should be ok on there, with minimal flex. Not sure about the pedal plate, but I guess you'll find out when you get them.
Either way, no need to budget for a new rig yet.
