Sim racers - what are you running?

I'm the same tbh. It frustrates me not being that fast. From Tuesday onwards I'm gonna start to do some GT (BMW M4) and LMP2 races. This'll bring my 2.0 iRating back down to earth with a thud I imagine.

I was reasonable in the LMP2s before I stopped midway through last year. Imagine it'll take a couple of weeks to get back into it. Tis hard not having ABS.

Had an amasing race in the top split lobby. 3rd was the best I could get. 1 and 2 were just aliens.

Watching this for example.

He's in the 36s easily. I'd love to see a data trace to see where my time is lost compared to him as in my head i'm doing everything the same.

Edit: Also why does he not know it's called a Grand Chelem? He's been driving for years!

Its corner speed where the good drivers trump us mere mortals. They can keep their mid corner speed where as we will "over slow" the car. I did managed a win yesterday with only the opening lap and 1 other that wasn't in the 36s.

Yeah, that's what i'm going to try and focus on. Getting stopped and turned earlier so the speed gain is carried down the next straight. I'm at 1605 iR and 4.81 SR after the weekend.

I lost a chunk of safety rating in one race last night (14/17 incidents). 1st 4x was as soon as the green lights came on as the dude next to me was a blinker and was instantly inside of me. 2nd one was a dude (A 4.1k) bumping into the back on me at turn 1 whilst he was defending from someone else. Then later that 4.1k driver edged me onto the grass causing me to spin and then collect him (Karma) as the car skidded back onto the track. The other 2 x 1x were me pushing the limits of the track so a fair cop.

Ouch, that's a bad race.

3 for me tonight. No real pogress. I'm a midfield running in a 1600 SOF race at the moment. I've done some low 37s though.

Do you run SimHub at all, if so what overlays do you use?

I use Racelabs for my overlays. I like their standings, relatives, track map and throttle thingy.

I do have a dash but not yet plugged it in yet.

I jumped into the LMP2 car for some practice around the Nurburgring GP track. Was a couple of seconds off a good time so didn't bother jumping in a race. More practice required. Also, the IMSA races are only every 2 hours which kinda sucks but hey.

I had a horrible night also. Think jumping from MX5s to LMP2 was a very optimistic goal.

Done the fixed LMP2 race and finished last (of the runners anyway) and then tried the IMSA race. Kept getting silly off tracks and then about 25 mins in I spun, hit the wall and I rage quit.

Gonna do some GT races over the next wee while before jumping back into LMP. Kept locking the brakes too which was frustrating. I have the pedals set to 100% force but it didn’t seem like it took all that much to lock up?

First GT3 race (The 45min IMSA @ The Ring GP) and managed a nice wee surprising result:

I actually qualified on pole (How the heck did that happen?) but was passed by the dude that eventually won it before lap 1 had even begun. He was pretty much in a class of one tbh.
