Sim racers - what are you running?

Noice.
My next piece of advice is do not visit the Simhub shakeit chat on their discord. Those guys are on some mad, down the rabbit hole **** when it comes to tactile
You’re my oracle for this right now.

My profile just arrived….and my pedals should be here tomorrow.

So, my plan is 1 under seat, 1 under pedals. 2 smaller ones on the pedals.

Tbh, I'm still fairly new to this and all I can tell you is what's been working well for me without spending silly money.
Those guys have more knowledge on the subject, but like most niche hobby enthusiasts, they've gone too far and will have you doing things like spending big bucks on high power DSP amps, multiple pairs of expensive buttkickers running up the back of your seat doing different stages of RPM, 2 pucks per pedal and God knows what else

The only things I could possibly see you wanting might be a kicker on the back of the seat and just maybe either something more powerful on the pedal tray or doubling up on the existing one, given the thickness of the plate. See how it goes :)

Yes, the throttle puck should turn up tomorrow.
I'll probably leave it at that - he says...

Looking good.
If you do get any undesirable vibration, it'll probably be the slider handle.

Thanks. I think i'll try some rubber on the risers between the slider and plate if there are issues.

Once my pedals are mounted i'll attached the shaker.....then wait for feedback on your double pedal setup :)

Managed a win last night on VIR in the MX5. It really should have been 2 on the bounce but got punted by the leader when trying to pass (Essentially left him loads a room but that wasn't good enough for him so he escorted me onto the grass).

Ohh. New track. Good results, I’m gutted when there’s a stupid crash. I’m just grinding away aiming for the higher splits.

I’ll be gutted if my pedals don’t arrive.

Me - Post sold pedals at 14:00 Monday. Arrived with buyer Tuesday at 10am.

Them - Pedals ordered Monday AM. Still not here. Sigh.

I'm not sure what to tell you that I haven't already said, except that it's what I expected and me likey :)

Ignore the stuff going on with the pedal face plates. I'm just experimenting with stuff that suits my size 13's a little better :D

Mega. I’m sold. My pedals arrived today so I can attach the shaker and setup tomorrow.

If your, kind offer, of some mounts is still available what measurements do you need? DM me your PayPal. Ty.

I'll DM you in a bit. You don't need to pay me :)

Haha, no :D You'll have to see whether you like ABS. I'm not a huge fan.
Also, that vid has the settings pumped up for effect like a lot of motion sim stuff you see. I doubt anyone would genuinely want to drive like that once they got over the excited new toy phase.

New pedals arrived and installed. Transducer attached to the pedal plate. Pedals are great, I've gone for a much firmer brake than I had on the sprints. They are a little taller, I think, I've adjusted the pedal face but I think I might need a heel plate as on the big braking I'm lifting my foot slightly to push on the top side of the pedal. More testing to come...

The Mazdas are at Virginia International Raceway this week, wow, what a track. Never driven it before and it's great fun. Quite easy to learn and I jumped into a race after only 1 practice session. I'm getting placed in 3rd / 4th splits with SOF around 16/1700. Skipping quali I finished 4th in the 1st race. 2nd race I was punted by an A class driver! Towed and recovered to 11th. Both races saw my safety rating improve. I'm at 4.73 now so will be upto class B soon, hopefully.

Damm why did you sell the HE sprints? They are meant to be the dogs ******

Pedals arrive Friday aftrnoon, this review drops on Saturday morning. Luckily it confirmed why I bought these pedals.

With PSVR2 out at the end of this month and Gran Turismo 7 supporting VR now I was considering buying a sim seat and wheel.

Maybe a play seat and a Logitech PlayStation wheel/pedals?

Has anyone else built a sim rig for Gran Turismo / PlayStation?

It's the same as building a sim rig for any other game tbh. What gear you choose really comes down to your budget and how much you reckon you'll get into it.

A playseat and a G29 will get you going and you'll have fun. Next thing you know, you're @john_smith and you're £10k deep :D

Just something I’ve been mulling over as I’m not inclined to spend the money on a VR gaming PC given that would cost several thousand pounds at least!

I generally only really game on console so can’t justify the expense of a new PC if it’s just for VR.

I’ll see what I think of the psvr2 headset /GT7 combo first then decide if it’s worth diving into the sim stuff!

Hope it wasn't me lol. I've had a couple of wins now on VIR in the MX-5s. Also threw away a couple to. Up to 2.0 iRating now.

What are you lapping? I’m mid 17s on a good one to low 18s on a bad.

Watching people pull 15s is crazy. I guess it’s about getting on the throttle on the major turns before a straight as early as possible.
