Sim racers - what are you running?

So here's what I've been up to in the rumblesphere lately.

After being very happy with a pair of Dayton DAEX32EP-4 exciters on the pedals for a little while (running mainly front slip), I wasn't totally happy with the front chassis/suspension effects on the main shaker under the pedal deck (GT1 Evo), as effects can get a little lost and muted due to it being bolted to a plate that's bolted to profile.
I tried running those effects on the pedal exciters instead and it was immediately far better and more detailed, but I didn't want to have that many effects running through that single pair.

So I came up with a bracket to add a Dayton TT25 to each pedal which lets them handle rumble/vibration/impacts and whatever else takes my fancy while the DAEX32's carry on doing their thing with f-slip + a touch of peak RPM and shifts.
It also let me put the now spare deck shaker on the upper back of the seat to make three on there in total now (bum + lower & upper back). Win win.

If anyone's wondering, the block spacers just make them work better with the heel rests and the standoffs are because muh big feet.

So yeah... These chonkybois provide far more detail, are quieter and directly target a bigger and more sensitive surface area of the foot than a shaker/transducer bolted to a thick metal plate vaguely rumbling the heels - and everything else with it, unless the deck is properly isolated.
Now it feels even more like a proper front to back chassis and can even fool me into feeling close to motion when absorbed in VR with headphones on.

Tbh, you can get fairly close to this with one of either on each pedal. One of each just gives more options.

If I were to recommend anything at a minimum to someone interested in tactile feedback, it would be a bass shaker under the seat (or smaller pucks in the seat cushions) and something directly on the pedals - whether it's small transducer/exciters like mine or rumble motors.
This stuff can really bring your rig to life and is a total game changer.
It's kind of like VR, in that it's something you can kind of explain, but it's really something that needs to be experienced to properly understand.

Amazing!!!

Anyone had any experience with the logitech pro racing wheel and pedals
Not used them but the price is a bit steep £1300 for the set and the wheel base is just plastic, no other wheel rims as of yet.

Moza R9 wheel base GS wheel and the SRP pedals is around £1000.

Moza R5 bundle is £550 which has wheel base, wheel and pedal's.

Fanatec have a set for around the same price.

Thanks - I mainly want it for GT7 on the ps5 - ive got a discount code that gets it down to £1000 for the wheel and the pedals.

Had a few wheelbases in the past including TS-XW, TGT-II and the new T818 direct drive.
GT7 VR really threw a spanner in the works, as its just so good..

In that case if it's for PS5 and it's down in price I'd say go for it! Should be great for GT7.

iRacing Season 2 for 2023 starts tomorrow. I should be upgraded to C class. My iRating has been going from 1400 to 1600 for the previous 8 weeks. I mostly lose rating from being crashed into so hopefully with C class drivers i'll do a little better. I came top 50 in my division, div5 in the Mazdas

I'm considering the SimLab production car challenge, but i'll do a little more research today. I guess the aim is to end up in GT cars because GT etc.

The SimLab is a great series, I've just done season 1 in it and had my irating go to 2k. was running the GT3 sprint series but it is an absolute wreck fest

What did you drive? I might take a look at the Clio and mix it with the MX5. Ideally I want a fixed series as I don't have time to chase setups for each track....unless there's a free repository to get "good enough" setups from.

The Toyota GR86, brill car to drive. Little less oversteer than the MX5 I found.

I'm looking at doing the GT Heusinkveld Challenge this season in the Aston Martin DBR9 GT1 after the YouTube Video DaveCam put out

Did you just drive a fixed stock setup? if not did you find any usefeul setup guides and or download sites. ty

Decided to go with the Sparco seat over sim lab, tough decision buying without trying but it’s much more comfortable that it looks.

Just received it :)

Very nice. I had a Sabelt Taurus in my first rig. That was very comfy.

Current seat is a Corbeau Revene X.

I caved and ordered Simagic P2000 pedals yesterday. Going to see how they compare with the HE Sprints I currently have.
