Modern city games, you have Cities XL 2012/2013 that is pretty good, very in-depth, Anno 2070 as said, you can get a free java version of the original SimCity which is surprisingly hard

i played it like 3 times and that was it. Wish i hadnt spent £40 on it. I also wish SC4 would work on modern PC's

SC4 works perfectly fine on modern pc's.

Been trying to get back into SimCity, but its just not doing it for me.

I apparently have Cities XL 2012 and Cities XL Platinum on Steam. Which is the latest one and which should I be playing?

Just found out there is an expansion for this?! It looks really nice graphics wise, but still, the small cities won't tempt me to buy the expansion. I only played the base game for a week...

yeah the game was probably my biggest disappointment of last year, instead of making bigger maps they release an expansion which expands maps upwards by making more dense cities.

Read any reviews of it and you realise what a pile of poop it is, half the new additions you can fit onto a single map without totally gimping your population.

This is very good news.
Within days of this launching I bet a mod will come out that allows bigger cities.

Once that's sorted this will actually be a good game.
IMO the game layout and workings were solid. It was the small cities and offline mode ruining it.
