SimCity V (2013) - screens/artwork and information

interesting so stoping people in that region, why dont they just do a global released date than these stupid staged dates.

1. It's easier on the servers to stager the bandwidth/load.
2. Because country retailers demand games be released on certain days. It's always Tuesday for US, Friday for the UK. Something that needs to be scapped.

Remember the D3 debacle where some could not connect for 24 hours after unlocking. Staging the regions seems sensible; gives them the chance to pull later regions completely before unlock if the earlier ones go pear-shaped.
Shame we are last though...

I can never understand why people go through all this effort to buy/download a game. Just wait for it's official release in YOUR country and be happy that you're getting it.

lolwut?

Who gives a crap? If someone buys it they should play it at the same time who get it unlocked earlier, it doesn't hurt anyone.

If it flattens the servers you won't be saying that. It's a phased deployment, makes perfect sense ... unless you are impatient.

Diablo 3 anyone?

errr no they should have global release dates and stop being muppets by relying on the stupid release days that were set when people actually had to ship stuff to shops

The majority of people who will be buying the game aren't even aware of ways to get around their regional release date and are probably content with waiting. Me on the other hand...

:p

Does anyone know of a key selling website that will send the code upon payment? i.e. I don't want to wait for the 8th to get my key.

Apparently there are some people getting through via Singaporean VPN and some that aren't, the one's who can't are people who bought through Origin so I've read.

@oceanquigley Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland get #SimCity Wed at 3:01pm PST:

WOW the UK are getting rimmed, basically the rest of the EU has it 2 days before us WTF

I have a key pre-ordered from Indian site and I asked someone from EA support if there will be any region lock issues with activating and using it in the UK and they told me there would be no problem, but this is EA support we're talking about so...

im hoping its just a problem with the singapore VPN's and the US VPN unlock will work like it has with every other game, I need sim city at home tomorrow :p

I'm sure those moaning about having to wait a day or two more than other countries, would be the first to also moan when all the servers over load if they did a worldwide release on the same day.
