SimCity V (2013) - screens/artwork and information

UPDATE 2 If you have a key, and you have a VPN, here's how to get the game going:

Log onto VPN

Log onto Origin

Enter CD Key

Start process to Download Game, disconnect VPN right after it starts.

Game will now download using regular connection.

Once the SC launcher is open, you can disconnect VPN and play normally.

Euro servers are live, btw. ;)

I'm sure those moaning about having to wait a day or two more than other countries, would be the first to also moan when all the servers over load if they did a worldwide release on the same day.

Was coming in to say the exact same, the You S of Eh is beta testing it for us europeans :D

I've just tried the below method but got to the point where my order is 'under review'. Apparently, to get this hurried through you can talk to the ea help desk, for some people this has worked and are now playing. Just as a heads up if anyone else was going to try it. Regardless, even if it does come in a day later, I have the LE for £40 :D

Here is a method that got me working!!! (aussie user)
Cancelled my previous pre-order by talking to origin live chat.
Then installed and used this VPN: http://www.hideman.net/ and set server to singapore.
Logged in to origin and purchased digital deluxe version from the singapore store (saved about $35 too). Paid via credit card. my name and address were all the same as my home address, i just changed the country to singapore. this may be important to keep the details the same as on your card. order took about 30-60 minutes to come through.
this part got messy, but what finally worked was i had to exit origin, change the server on hideman to malaysia, then re-log. game was now accessible for download.
started the d/l which was very slow. then just closed the VPN. had to wait a few mins, then the d/l finally got going again on my normal connection. IMPORTANT: Don't pause the d/l or it will mess you over, just be patient, it gets stuck for a while but will eventually kick over again.
the file (launcher) is around 260Mb. once this completed, i had to log back into hideman on malaysia for it to register the game. then the launcher started to download, so i closed hideman.
currently at "processing large file" in the launcher, which seems to be a download considering how slow its going. so far things are looking good.

Guess you mean Deluxe Edition. Works out to be £42 I think. Am trying this at the moment, but can't be bothered to contact ea to speed it up.

Theirs a rumour that all keys will be allocated to pre-orders worldwide when it goes live in US, I ****ing hope so then im gonna VPN that mother

I am really stuck between buying this in the hope they sort the problems out (unlikely, i know) or whether to save my money and wait to see what they bring in the future.

IF they make subways a paid expansion i will not be a happy shopper. Having a subway-railway system in SC2000 was my pride and joy!

EDIT: crumbled on watching a few videos and the absurd price of nextworld.in :) thanks to the guys on the previous page for tip

What a terrible review. That read like they'd made their minds up before playing. Constantly whining about everything and comparing it to a 10 year old game which a lot of people look at through rose tinted glasses. One of them actually moaned that the wind changed direction, wow like that doesn't happen in real life.

it most likely will be because the servers are down i think.

a lot of people are complaining on facebook about not being able to log in or even get to download the game

From reading around, it sounds like the US launch went about as well as the Diablo 3 launch. Why on earth they are not allowing preload is beyond me :/

One thing I'd like to know about the game is this.

You know how in SC2000 (or 4?), you could zone light/medium/high density housing and other stuff.

This enabled you to create specifically light density, rich (or slum) areas where the affluent could live in large houses etc etc. I used to like doing this along coast lines etc.

Now without any density controls, can we still have small residential areas that DO NOT turn into tower blocks? i.e. rich areas where people live in mansions?

Density is linked to roads, there are different tiers of roads which can keep buildings at low, mid, high densities.

So you could lay down a nice ocean front low density road and your residential will stay at low density. There will also be interactions between wealth and density too.
