17th October in Russia. The devs have posted they are working on localisation (i.e. English) right now, but have not confirmed/denied an English release date yet, but nice to know it's coming and not doing a DNF.

Yes indeed, English version cant be that far behind. Just a shame I wont have TrackIR intime like I wanted

Edit: some more info for people who dont know what this is, a combat flight sim based on the Russian single seat CAS attack helo the Ka-50. Its going to be the first in a new series of realistic simulations called Digital Combat Simulator (http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/?lang=en ).

Full simulation of the aircrafts functions down to every switch. This is the kind of detail your looking at on the ground vehicles alone:

So much detail for a vehicle that if you manage to even get that close you will be dead.

Although the game will be completed in 2008, it may not be available for purchase until early 2009.

DCS: Black Shark will be using the latest version of StarForce. The DVD version will require a weekly check.

Why do I need to be checked up upon after giving retailers my money? Sucks imo! It won't stop me buying it but it just feels wrong that I'm being "checked up upon" kinda thing...

It means you put your disk in once a week when starting the game , rather than every time you start the game. Internet connection is NOT required.
