* Simple Root Guide for Galaxy S3 *

So manually updating the firmware as im rooted, will that mean i will have to re-root my phone and install all the mod/hacks that i had on the phone??. Also will i lose my apps and settings??.

I remember doing it last time a new firmware came out but cant remember if i lose all my stuff when rooted.

Anyone know??

Sounds ridiculously easy. I'll give it a shot later.

Question: This isn't going to wipe the phone, is it?

Finally, what's all this 'Triangle Away' and talk of a counter?

Guys

Just followed this and rooted no issues :D , should I update my firmware now? Says Baseband version - L9300XXLH1 Build IMM76D.I9300XXBLG8 Was locked to O2 as far as I know

Thanks

Its a Whole ROM,

Just download the rom to the phone, or on your mac then transfer it to your memory card and Flash with CWM that was installed when you rooted, just choose flash update zip and point it to where you have saved the rom.

Gulp! Do I have to save and copy all my apps back after, just doing a rooter titanium backup now to the 32gb SD card I had delivered earlier today...

Would hate to shag my phone and spend hour sorting it out again :(

Thanks Mart

I use go backup to save all my apps, sms & everything else but backup which whatever you feel best :)

IIRC yes, Cwm backup is great as if anything goes wrong you can just restore that back in recovery and you will be back to how you are now.

Yeah you can restore from anything and it will be back to how it was when you backed up :)

Super!

How do I download it then, keeps showing a timer asking for a phone number to be entered which I'm not liking the look of?

At work so torrent is a no no...

ah i always use torrent but the phone number thing i've seen people say press cancel and it will let you download it anyway.

Edit- Red cross top right :)

Omega V23 is really good, really impressed.

I'm a long term omega user so have been keeping upto date on it.
