SimRig build*..........*build includes building a shed for it 1st

What a great job you have done so far, so neat and a very thorough job. Bet you can't wait to get it finished and get racing now. Interested to hear how easy the P1X goes together I'm deciding whether to get one of those or a Trak Racer TR160.

Thank you. Nearly there now, yes I’m looking forward to enjoying the space.

P1X all day long. @mikehhhhhhh will give you some trackracer insights.

I would personally avoid Trak Racer like the plague.

Their products just seem to be very poorly thought out and developed. I had issues with an older steel based chassis with seat mounts cracking and flex in the wheel. They sent me a stronger mount and when that wasn't right, they sent me an adapter and when that didn't work they sent me a different mount for my wheel - the fact they built three different products instead of just designing the first one correctly says everything you need to know.

I hoped their alu profile rigs were better, but looking at the Facebook group it's clear that even they aren't right. There are lots of reports of wrong size profiles, having to bend stuff to get it to fit, missing fittings etc.

In total contrast, the P1X goes together perfectly. Everything is clearly well engineered and I couldn't pick any holes in it. For a small glipse at their engineering prowess, just look at the Vario Vesa system.

OK that's really useful thanks. I was swaying towards the Trak Racer but I think I will do some more research. Thanks both!

No problem.

I guess what TR stuff does have going for it is the price. It's obviously a lot cheaper.

I'm also sure there are plenty of people out there that haven't experienced better that are perfectly happy with theirs.

Quick question though - best place to get the Simlab from?

I got mine from Digital Motorsports and would recommend them to anyone. They also got me a P1X in under 4 weeks at a time when Simlab wasn't even taking orders!

The service is good, they are accessible and most importantly they are well on top of exporting to the UK post-brexit.

Brilliant thanks!! The delivery side was one of my concerns but the build quality and ease of putting together is very important to me also. I'll be putting it together in a fairly small space - my rig is in my loft due to a low WAF on this particular hobby ( Wife approval factor) :)

A little bit of progress. I've run the uplink for the ethernet back to my cab so now I have wifi inside. Moved the PC in and my zwift setup. 2 old monitors on the stand to see if it worked.

And was gonna say go careful, as had a pc out in a shed, turned on when it was cold in winter and pop. Up in smoke. Must have been condensation/dampness inside the unit. There was only a little bit on the windows as well.

Ahh yes, that's the existing garage. That wall out of picture you can see daylight through some of the cracks. I've a plan to pull it down, rebuild and turn it into a cinema room.

I've insulated the shed so well it's crazy warm inside even now. I've not turned the heating on at all and when i'm working it's t shirt conditions. I'll try and find a wifi temp sensor that can log temps and be monitored remotely. I expect there's an app for a pi or a stand alone IOT box.

This is awesome, everything looks so tidy and well done.
Is there anything else you want to add once the rig is sorted?

Thank you. Zwift setup and a Running machine plus the sim rig is the main aim. I think the MIL has a ***** old rowing machine that she wants to donate so i'll see if I can find room for it.

really neat job all round! well done

Thank you.

Minor updates:

Kitchen almost finished. Worktop, plinths, various trims and then door adjustments to go.

Wall mount for a bike.

Screens for the Sim have arrived.
