****SIMS 3****

I've had this game since release and there are a few dissapointing bugs i have encountered. The music dosen't play for me and i've seen it crash to desktop twice over the decent amount of time i've played it.

I find the normal 90 day sims life perfectly fine it allows you to easily make it to the top of a chosen career and do some other side skills simultaneously before you die. I've been through 3 generations of sims now and i feel that if i moved it up to 190 day life or even 350 that i would spend a huge time at the top job earning a shed full of money and max out all the skills i could ever want which in my opinion makes the game too easy.

The option to turn aging off is there so if you do want to just create the ultimate sim theres always that choice.

Also if you do die you can always revive the sim at the science lab and have them live as a ghost which is quite cool.
 
Had no crashes whatso ever but I saved my game last night after a lot of work and then come to play it today and find that i cant get into my old game or even create a new game . Trying a reinstall now :(
 
I've played it on three machines, two desktops and a laptop one with win7 and others vista and not had any problems with it. Seems to be random the problems that people are getting.
 
now mine keeps losing the save games ontop of the odd crash to desktop, what a waste of money, this is definitly going in the drawer unil some fixes are released. How many people on here are also getting this problem and if you are getting it name your specs because maybe we can pinpoint why some are getting it and others are not.

RAM: 4GB PC6400
Mobo: Abit AWD9-Max
GPU: ATI 1GB 4870
OS: Win7 x64

I get the same issues and all I can say is just save frequently, and after every save, do a second save under a different filename (save as) just incase your primary save goes down. Remember if the game CTD's during a save - that save file is corrupted and your work lost for good.

Tbh the game should autosave every x amount of days, it is a poor mechanism in place and it doesn't help that saving takes so long, so it breaks the flow of the game totally. Lastly, to those who aren't getting crashes, are you using any custom content from the exchange store? I have a feeling that could be the cause because I am....

yes i was also wondering if it might be the custom content, my problems only started when i installed them but i just presumed it was a coincidence.i am going to re-install and not put any custom content on and see what happens. also kainz, how did you get your e6600 to 3.7ghz? mine is not stable above 3.2ghz

I bought one of the early E6600's and got lucky with the cpu and Geil ram too. It's all shoved into a Coolermaster Stacker so there is a ton of airflow to keep things cool. I couldn't go above 3.4ghz with the stock hsf.
 
interesting, i have no custom content installed, other than the free landscape thing you get and the custom colour schemes i made myself. i have no other external custom content and i have had no problems or crashes on both my laptop and desktop. could be on to something.
 
Arghhhhhhhh a new error has popped up for me during saves lol. I got an Error 13 box appear - which tells me to refer to the handbook/manual. I had to quit the game because it wouldn't accept any filename for saving.

01: No save file information.
02: No active world.
03: The save path is empty.
04: Cannot save directory.
05: Cannot find the requested file.

14: No load/save manager found.
15: Other error. Sorry.

They've gone in the wrong direction with the sims 3 imo :( It feels like it needs even more micro management than its predecessors, allowing for less time to 'tinker'.

I want the games to become a splice of the sims and sim city, where you have a vast amount of influence on the town but don't need to 'babysit' individuals. They should be able to go about their day without you holding their hand and you should be able to act as a mayor of the town, using tax money to improve it and add more facilities etc. You should still be able to have full control over individuals to do things like improve their standard of living so they become more successful, this in turn will result in more tax money for your town to keep it in good condition.

Obviously this is only what I want, i'm probably alone in my feelings.
 
Just got married to the neighbourhood OAP, then the same day my Sim aged and became an OAP. Got them both to retire and bought a pool. :D

Does anyone know if you can have babby at the Elder stage?
