Singapore Grand Prix 2010, Marina Bay Street Circuit - Race 15/19

I can't agree with the people criticising Webber. It was simply a case of two committed guys racing for the World Championship.

Hamilton was ahead but hadn't completed the move. Maybe he could have left a bit more more space and still have taken the position? I don't blame either driver, it was a racing incident.

Reminds me I took a few photos of how the new paddock at Silverstone is coming on whilst I was there for the Renault racing last week:

Still a bit of work to do but shouldn't be a problem finishing in 10 months I wouldn't have thought.

No grandstands at all in that part of the track though so some more scaffolding stands will need knocking up :p

I think Christian Klien earned the HRT seat for the rest of the season - he was faster than Senna, who was in turn faster than Chandok and Yamamoto.

Of course it all comes down to funding, but surely the team can see that if they can get by without Yamamoto it would be the best bet at being able to evaluate whether to keep Senna for next year.

Ok so lets get it right, Webbers's performance isn't the best with other car around.

Let's see what you said a fortnight ago at Monza...

So, Webber is a **** driver near cars, and Lewis is aggressive as usual.

No bias there ehh??

Bias doesn't discredit my posts that are based on the reality of what happened. Webber got it wrong and Hamilton paid the price. You can continue down the bias path, but it shows that you can't argue against the facts.

Webber's move definitely was aggressive. It was also stupid, because probability wise it wouldn't have paid off half as well as it did. He should have lost a front suspension arm, and against the King Tigerrari he probably would have, just like Lewis did.

It was a 50/50 RACING incident... there's just too many children on here that would rather stick up for Lewis than see the truth. How it was Webber's fault is beyond me... as EJ and MB said, where was Webber supposed to go?

Even Martin Whitmarsh has said that Lewis could have done better and gone a bit wider.

Although I'm not saying that MW wasn't completely innocent you cannot push the blame entirely on one driver.

IMHO, I think the move was over-audacious by Lewis, MW was lucky to get away with it (esp. after seeing the state of his front right) but that's it.

End of.

Childish and we of course stick up for Lewis all the time.
Yet we don't and yes it's a racing inciedent but just because it's a racing incident does not mean it is 50/50. only one drive was behind and went in to hot, to a gap that was always going to dissapere.

Not on your nelly!

The whole "where was he supposed to go" just serves to prove he got it wrong. You don't have to go anywhere if you have judged the corner properly and given yourself adequate braking room.

Webber was lucky to get away with it? What would it be? His misjudgement of the corner and hitting Lewis?

Back to the rugger for 40 mins.

There's clearly been a lot more work done than there was back when the F1 was on a couple of months ago. It was pretty much just a metal shell at the time.

Look at all that tarmac on Hamiltons right side all the way through the curve...

Wohooooooo!

Fantastic from Fernando, Faultless throughout the weekend.
A fantastic pole lap and another which would have got him the position, Did well to get into the first corner ahead of Vettel after the tricky start, Peerless after that.

Nando and Vettel were streets ahead of any other driver this week, Where was Mclarens pace in the race? Am i right in saying almost a second slower than Nando and Vettel? So much for Mclarens great race pace.

Thought Webber did well considering his position at the start, Button did the best he could. Hamilton with another dodgy move that he could have avoided by simply backing out of the corner. Webber had the line.

It was a similar situation in Monza, Massa had the line yet Hamilton decided he would be best served trying to get ahead..

Drivers of the day = Alonso, Vettel & Kubica.
Another note on this weekend, Grand Chelem for Alonso, pole, win, fastest lap and led all the race.

Looking forward to Japan, Alonso back on song.
As i said earlier in another post, Aslong as Alonso's engine holds up he will win the championship.

Makes no difference, has the line, has the lead. Probably can't see where Webber is which makes it harder.

Makes a lot of difference Webber has the inside line therefore Hamilton has to pass on the outside he hasn't completed the pass so really shouldn't be trying to hit the apex of the corner. He should have left plenty of room

This is exactly my thinking, but I am awaiting AcidHells response to my last question :)

Hamilton had bags of room to take that corner on and chose to cut across making a complete noob error in thinking MW was miles behind, because let's remember, those Red Bulls are dog slow and MW is exactly the kind of driver to yield a place.
