Singapore Grand Prix 2011, Marina Bay Street Circuit - Race 14/19

Hahahaha that's so funny...Hamilton paying the price for recklessness earlier in the season and gets a drive through. Glad to see massa has a sense of humour though

Hamilton definitely has more enemies than friends on the grid lately, plus with Button consistently doing an arguably better job, maybe he will end up getting pushed out of F1? What team would take him with his attitude as it is?

UUUhhhhh how I hate hangovers :/

Found the race quite boring tbh, apart from Jenson's "pushing" at teh end. Shame he couldn't have done that a couple of laps before, maybe not allowed to do so.

Quite a dull race with few incidents. The Lewis overtakes weren't amazing or anything, seen far braver/ more daring overtakes over the course of this season. Just simplistic DRS stuff as usual.

Thought this race was more boring than last year's Singapore. Mind you, Kubica made that race awesome.

Once again Jenson outshining Lewis... so glad it's shut up all those of you who were saying Jenson will do rubbish in the same team as Lewis... :)

I don't know if you noticed, but today was the Hamilton/Jensen show.

He's not leaving any time soon.

Solid racing from Button and PDR. Glad to see Force India getting points from both their drivers and happy to see them challenging and beating the Mercedes team on many ocassions throughout the season :)

The Hamilton and Massa incident was a bit unfortunate for both drivers, Massa had the inside line and would have cut off Hamilton anyways and Hamilton did have a bit of a run off area but he did lock up. Both drivers had to pit (hammy twice) so the penalty was fair although like the BBC team said, if Massa didn't have a punctured wheel then he possibly wouldn't of got a drive through. Still I found it amusing that Hamilton finished miles ahead of Massa even though (might be wrong) he went into the pitlane 5 times?

You could see in the post race interview with Hamilton that he was a bit worried/cautious looking and what emerged was hilarious. I think Massa is just concerned that he is not performing as well as Ferrari is looking for in him and he knows it.

Not a brilliant race although a few sporadic moments of enjoyment, have to hand it to Vettel. He has drove well and appears to be a fairly decent lad. A bit of an ego but like it or lump it he's earned it

You can just see it in lewis's eyes, he wanted to knock him out there and then! lol

Aint lewis ment to be top of the class in some kind of martial arts?

 Lewis is harder than Massa, seriously? We're going there?

I actually think it was quite funny of Massa, sarcasm ain't the lowest form of wit in my book :p

Someone would take him, but currently he'd be a second driver at a team as most have a definite no.1. Problem is this season does look like he'll lose to Jenson, and for me, that's his career on a downwards spiral unless this is the only year his team mate beats him. An old journeyman as well as a few on here said at beginning of season. His stock is well down, he's nowhere near the top of the tree on this seasons performances, and his outbursts make him look like a spoilt kid. Personally I'm glad he's having a tough time, he's had it too easy in his career so far. Let's see if this makes or breaks him!

I dont think there are many teams that would NOT take him, he is still one of the most exciting drivers in the field by a country mile. I think a lot of his problems on the track are more down to his lifestyle off the track. Sort that out and he would be back to his best in no time at all.

Are there people that really think Hamilton shouldnt have got a penalty for the Massa incident?

My take on it is same as Brundles - if Lewis had just damaged his wing and that was all and Massa was able to carry on without any real delay then he would have not deserved a penalty - purely would have been poor judgement and a racing incident that Lewis had already paid for by losing half his front wing.

Unfortunately the attempted pass did significantly affect Massas race (he had to pit solely because of it) so I cant see what else the stewards would do other than to penalise Lewis - its not like Massa closed the door or did anything overtly aggressive (god has he ever?!?) on track that makes him partly to blame other than being slower than Hamiliton...

I dont particular agree with the butthurt from Massa after the race (its stupid and not professional - expect a PR apology tomorrow :p), its not like he would ever be in a position to have a podium, but can understand that he was doing his job on-track like any other driver and didnt deserve the incident, irrelevant that he was slower than Hamilton for most of the race...

LOL Massa. Kinda has a point though, doesn't he? Lewis is not covering himself in glory this season; meanwhile Button is driving better and better.

Vettel is becoming truly imperious at the front though.

Also, does anyone know what happened to Senna? He made an extra stop somewhere near the start of the race and lost a load of places but I didn't see what happened to him?

Agreed, but my has he let his eye off the ball, all that (deserved) promise when he joined F1 is all but a distant memory.

Off the track hes just constantly made the wrong decision about the people around him, the people that manage him and the attitude he brings onto the track.

He, himself, has been his worst enemy, closely followed by McLaren themselves. I just dont think he realises what hes lost or what a great he could have been (I dont think he will win another WDC)...

I dont think McLaren have the guts to get rid of LH if they wanted to, they seem to be relatively happy bending over backwards to accomodate him...

From what I have read (which I admit must be taken with a pinch of salt) he doesn't believe he has any problems with his lifestyle off the track and doesn't seem to want to make any changes.

It wasn't just that incident which riled Massa...

In Q3 Lewis was all over the back of Massa trying to get past and that obviously peed Massa off enough.

That, coupled with Lewis hitting him, well yeah... I can actually understand why he got so worked up...
