Singapore Grand Prix 2011, Marina Bay Street Circuit - Race 14/19

Hasn't DeResta and Shummi lost a front wing in every race so far? certainly seems that way yet they don't get this much verbal lashing for it!
Eh? Of course they do though for DiResta as a rookie its vaguely acceptable and everytime Schumi does something wrong its questioned if he should still be in the sport...

Stop talking rubbish

What a joke this thread has become. It's almost as though 2008 was a complete dream. Has he really had his WDC revoked because of this racing incident mainly brought about because Massa was just shockingly slow off the apex?

Are those tears? Awww :D

Seriously, it was a racing incident, it's just highlighted more because he does have a habit of hitting people, you can't hide from that I'm afraid.

Just seen the bit where Massa interrupts his interview, bit childish of Felipe. He mad yo!

Not tears. Just disbelief that just a matter of weeks ago it was "Is vettel really in the same class as Ham, Alo, Msc, Senna/Prost?". Now it's "Is Ham really in the same class as Vet, Alo, Msc, Senna/Prost".

It's hilarious. Arm chair expert-ism at it's absolute worst. People just don't understand how motorsport works. Sometimes even its biggest fans seem to forget.

Nope. I have honestly never thought Ham is as good as any of them...overhyped and overrated. If he was anywhere near as good as those he'd be a double WDC at least...sadly he's not!

No, no he hasn't, that's a ridiculous exaggeration given the generally reasoned comments in the thread.

He is being rightly and fairly criticised for repeated avoidable mistakes that a driver of his calibre need not (should not?) be making.

I'm a huge fan of his, but this year he's really not been performing at his best and sometimes it's almost cringe worthy seeing people find this excuse or that excuse when he puts himself in yet another silly situation that was entirely unnecessary.

Today he should have known better than to try and cut right in behind someone else on cold tyres that wouldn't be performing at their best, it just wasn't a sensible thing to do and it wasn't necessary pretty much straight out of the pits.

It's incredibly frustrating to watch because we all know he's better than this, he CAN race and race damn well without getting tangled up in all these situations but for whatever reasons at the moment, he just isn't managing it. The only thing common to all his incidents is unfortunately him and it's something he needs to get the better of sooner rather than later.

Some people are also so hilariously biased towards certain drivers on here, too, mind.

Of course they are, it's part of any sport. You follow a team/driver/sportsman of any description with a high level of interest and you'll always dig out an excuse to defend them (I say "you", I don't mean you in particular, just as a generalisation). I used to do it with MSC. Massive fan of his but I look back now and question why I stood up for him because I was blinded by my support for him, even though he was clearly wrong. I've grown out of it and can see both sides of things more often than not now and can give an unbiased opinion, but there are several around here that are desperately predictable.

+1. Not a fan of Hammy (can you tell?) but the main reason is the hype and the next messiah he was made out to be. I am sooooo glad JB is beating him this season. however, if he turns it around and comes good, then I will have the grace to admit he's done well....

I like Vettel now. I just wish he wasn't winning everything so easily so we could see how good (or not) he really is!

I fully expect that when his car becomes a little less good that we will see a return of some of his petulance, however :D

Might be a while before RBR start going backwards. I think other teams need to creep forward and really apply pressure or he'll turn into another Schumacher.

He's a good kid, though even i find the "finger" annoying as ****.

A team like RBR won't be dominant forever. MSC/Ferrari was a special set of circumstances that I don't see in RBR's setup.

RBR could be dominant again next year, yes, but after that... I doubt it. 2013 is the biggest shake up of regs for a couple decades. I would expect McLaren, Mercedes or Ferrari to be on top in 2013 because they will hold the cards close to their chest about the new engines...

Although with Renault Sport now seeming to publicly admit that RBR is their favoured team... maybe they'll get the inside scoop on the engines too.

Massa isn't the quickest driver, granted... but slow off the apex. Blinded by fanboism you are :)

I honestly thought that in 2009. Big changes afoot and I thoroughly expected McLaren to handle it a lot better than everyone else and dominate. Instead we had a freak Brawn car that got so far ahead nobody had a chance of catching them, despite RBR emerging from the pack and staying there since.

Should have some more bits soon, will let you know.

Good man, reckon Seb will be able to get that point? Big ask ;)
