Singapore Grand Prix 2015, Marina Bay - Race 13/19

Probably have their engine turned right down. Even if not, it is just one race.

Yeah, because Ferrari will be running theirs at full whack.

Ferrari were faster when we were just a few hundred miles up the road, and perhaps they're running different fuel loads. It will be a combination of factors, but it's not Ferrari turning their engines up in practice.

Why are they talking about this track as if it's so different to everything else Mercedes is good on. Yes they were epic at Monza.... but this car was brilliant in Spain, and owned everything in Monaco. It has for two years excelled on every type of track. They are talking about track bumps and riding curbs, but again Mercedes have had excellent suspension and been riding corners better than any other car.

They are all talking like the Merc has only been strong on power tracks and has a bad chassis otherwise. Williams that would be a fair assessment, they were dire at Monaco, can't remember them in Spain but for the past 18 months they have been stronger on power tracks and no where near as good on tight tracks with lots of corners. Merc hasn't had any of the same weaknesses at all.

tbh I was expecting a bit more from him on Vettel's lap. He must have said the word "kerb" about 50 times.

He doesn't bring any insight at all, just states the obvious and reiterates what others have already said.

Basically he's totally out of touch. F1 is a different sport to the one he raced in (and he was average at best even then IMO) so he basically has no idea what he's talking about.

What on earth is up with the Mercedes? I can understand the track being less suited to some cars and more to others but this is a ridiculous performance swing. Having to put the super-softs on in Q1?!

While I'm not disagreeing, that must mean Brundle is borderline useless now. ;)

I suppose the difference is Brundle has stayed in F1 and picked up on the trends and has done more shoots driving recent cars than Hill, and done the odd race long since Hill hung up the helmet. Brundle is a shadow of his former self, especially when it comes to relaying technical knowledge, but he's still better than anyone else.

Herbert is very much the same as Hill in terms of insight (**** all), though at least he has a modicum of personality, but he's still ****-poor.

Button will be brilliant when he inevitably steps into a commentary box full-time (he did some at Monaco in 2005, but I think that's been it), but if he's finished in F1 he'll have a good few years ahead of him in WEC first.

When you have a power advantage you don't need to focus too hard on aero performance and efficiency. So its not too much of a surprise that a track where power advantages are reduced sees them drop back towards the pack.

At the end of the day it's 1 race out of a season they have otherwise totally dominated. I can't imagine they are losing much sleep over it. The key thing is how far ahead of Rosberg Hamilton can get himself.

Vettel could seriously catch up to Rosberg in the championship though!
