Not sure. I remember reading some time ago that Fergie was never that hands on with actual coaching and that's why his assistants were specialist coaches (Kidd onwards).

A lot of managers from that era were the same.
 
I think it's a terrible decision to get rid of one of the most highly respected tactical analysts in world football. I was all for getting rid of Phelan (I don't think he worked the players hard enough, nor demanded a higher level of fitness) but Rene will definitely be a miss. Thankfully for him he'll have no trouble getting a job elsewhere.

And hereby proves my point, you were all for getting rid of Phelan because for god knows what reason you've concocted this idea that he didn't work the players hard enough or demanded a higher level of fitness? How would you possibly know that unless you've attended said training sessions?

Like I've said all along people have taken a liking to one and a dislike to the other and as a result are just making reasons up why to like (or dislike) as they go along :o

Oh and Bucket don't use Andy as a reason to hind behind, if there's something you want to say to me just come out and say it ;)
