Sir Alex Ferguson

LoL :D

I've asked you before and would appreciate a reply this time, how old are you Nick?

When Fergie took over he had an ageing squad that was full of drunks, no youth team, no millions to spend. He built a team good enough to win the league and I think up until that point the most we had paid for a player was 3.4 million for Roy Keane.

So do please expand on your point of this great youth team and the millions he had because he sure didn't have them for the first 4-5 years.

i think that many managers blessed with the youth team that came through AND all the millions to spend on top would have suceeded - just has fergie has. maybe even gone further and won the CL a few more times.

LoL :D

im 28. how old are you? from your childish antics im guessing its about half of that? I was there watching Man Utd at boundry park as a kid, watching kanchelskis down t wing.

that 3.4m for Roy Keane was quite the sum in those days as i remember. Dont get me wrong, im not saying that Fergie was never a good manager. Clearly he was, back in the day, some 20 years ago!

So as per the youth team, it had a great one off, one time only LOLZABALUZA generation of genius that has underpinned our main squad ever since.

The testament to how much of a once of it was, is the fact that NONE of our youth team since then has ever broken into the first team, except evans, who is terrible anyway. and fletcher...

i mean, Giggs, Beckham, Scholes, Butt, Nevilles etc was a once off and underpinned the team, was an utter once off. it was therefore luck pure and simple. if it was simply down to fergie, then why cant fergie magic another youth team of good players? the fact that he is clinging on to a 36 year old giggs and 35 yo scholes tells its own story.

One of Luck, one of being unable to replace, or even find a sensible spare option for HIM or Keane, despite buying:

Carrick 20
Hargreaves 20
Anderson 10
Miller 2
Kleberson 7
Veron 28

90 millions worth of dross to cover the cracks.

What childish antics are you referring to Nick, I asked you a simple question, there was nothing childish about it

Personal insult removed.

Sack Fergie, Sell Giggs eh.

Fergie is one of the most successful managers that the English game has ever seen, and imho will likely ever see.

He's turned United in to one of the biggest clubs in World Football.

Indeed...makes me laugh when some Man Utd supporters ask for him to be sacked...utter sheer madness...as much as i love Wenger i wouldnt mind seeing ole Fergie at Arsenal....not that it will ever happen:p

Nah get rid of him, he's ****.

The thousands of people outside OT after every game protesting should tell you that.

yawn

ah well, when you have no logical recourse then you must revert to type. i didnt expect anything less, thanks for not dissapointing:) and heres me thinking you'd have some kind of point to make. lol.

I made my point you called me childish

Is it because you didn't have a good enough argument?

You avoid the difficult arguments I've noticed, the CL thread for instance, you left that pretty quickly.

At the end of the day, I wouldn't put someone thinking Fergie isn't the **** to merely age even if I disagree vehemently.

Alex Ferguson should be in full command of when his career at Man U comes to an end. Quite simply he made the club what they are today. A draw against Rangers in a game that I'm sure it will transpire was of little significance and a poor debut for a new signing shouldn't have people questioning his ability to manage at the top level. He isn't infallible but he's about as close to it as I expect to ever see.
