Sir Alex Ferguson

I knew that faux dislike and name-calling was just a front for a deep seated love of the man, he's on a par with Shankly for you isn't he? ;)

Sir Alex Ferguson is almost unquestionably one of the greatest managers that Manchester United have ever had or let's put it another way if he's only managed what he has by luck then I'm sure 99% of football fans would be happy if their manager was as lucky. He's obviously made mistakes, some major and some minor, his dealings with players, staff, owners and the press have sometimes left a significant amount wanting but this isn't about whether he's a nice person who loves kittens and helps old ladies across the road - as a manager he's one of the greats.

I respect him as one of the greatest managers there's been

As a bloke he's a **** :p

At the end of the day though, I don't think SAF cares what other teams' supporters think of him. :p

There is not enough words for me to describe how much i hate him, his footballing achievements are undoubtedly good but his personality etc is just terrible

Probably the greatest, as a Scotsman I'm sure you can appreciate where he took Aberdeen to, that I may add was without the trillions and the awesome youth team he's lived off with MU ;)

But lets not get caught up with the facts, he's **** really.

To put it into context, winning the Scottish League with a team other than Rangers or Celtic is a bit like claiming the heavyweight championship of the World when you're a blown-up middleweight at best, possibly even a welterweight. No-one has managed it in the subsequent 25 years since Aberdeen's last triumph (although Hearts have arguably been closest) and if you look back over the history of the Scottish league there's not that many times that one of the Old Firm hasn't had a hold of the title.

It's fine to think he's a terrible human being, it's fine to question whether he's lost it and possibly should have left a while ago but I reckon his record ought to allow him to leave on his own terms as much as possible - whatever they may be.

A gent? How very magnanimous of you to say so. ;)

He has the man management skills of someone with Asperger's and less tactical nous than Tony Pulis.
Man management...Where exactly has he gone wrong? shipped out disruptive Bellamy, dropped Given for arguably Englands best youngster and best goalkeeper? and brought in 5 top players and his tactics have been spot on tbh...i cant see in any games were he has gone wrong despite maybe a few times when he should be playing two strikers but Tevez by himself has done well.

tactics spot on tonight in the Carling Cup?

"dsruptive" Bellamy = 'cause he wanted to know why Hughes was sacked ? iirc he was only "disruptive" after Mancini had been a bit of a arse towards him.

Given? What was the point in buying him?

could have bought in better ;)

Anywauy / back to topic.

SAF = Best Manager or at least one of the best managers this Country will ever see :) Simples.

Doesn't matter what you think of him, he's done so much in the game.

Sorry one game wrong :/
No Bellamy complaining every 5mins, high fiving redknapp after city spurs game etc
The point in buying was that we needed a top goalkeeper to try and get 4th, a inexperienced Hart couldnt/probably wouldnt have done that.
Well i disagree, as in the transfer thread where people suggested Rodellega,N'Zogbia etc is just ridiculous comparing them to Silva etc
I never said he hadnt and i agree he is a top manager but i said i hated him as a person
