Depth of field is by far the worst.
DOF is for focus shots, relevant to using a scope but it shouldnt be forced on otherwise as most people can focus at various ranges not just one so yep irritating

If you're downsampling from a high enough resolution, you can still end up with a net positive gain in sharpness even with FXAA.Nvidia recommend using DSR with fxaa that way the textures will be sharper and you get free AA. So no drop in sharpness whatsoever.
These effects exist to compensate for the flaws of consoles. Chromatic hides aliasing, motion blur hides bad graphics and depth of field hides bad textures. God knows why they exist on PC though.
It's also lost almost 100% of the detail behind the three poles, turned into what looks like a heavy fog when the other image shows a whole load of detail.
Lol, you only need it on if it tears, otherwise you are far better off with it disabled due to the issues it causes.
I have owned many different PC systems, GPUs, Monitors, etc....
and NEVER have I known a game that doesn't tear when V-Sync is off

Well that's a shame for you, I very rarely need to enable it.
The point you are missing is that its not a graphical effect which this thread is about, its a fix for an issue that occasionally occurs.
Motion blur goes off instantly on every game I play, same goes for chromatic and film grain. Useless features.
I will go further than that...
I never seen a PC system EVER, where V-sync OFF didn't result in tearing...
...but then I suppose not everyone notices it or bothers about it....which is something I find incomprehensible, hence stating it on this thread.
Why is vsync a bad thing?
I don't know if it is to be honest, I just read about it adding lag years ago and got into the habit of avoiding it unless needed. I'm also on 60hz 1080p although I use vsr to up it too 1440 nowadays as it does improve it visually. I don't go higher though as it shrinks stuff too much.
