How about bombs?

Not only do they have a flashing red LED, but it seems that they also come equipped with an audible 'beep' too, just in case the flashing red light didn't give the location away. Hell, even the ones with nothing but a countdown display issue the 'beep'!

and the bombmaker ALWAYS conforms to the red/blue wire, if I were making a bomb, i'd use black wires for everything, just to annoy the bomb squad or make sure the "hero" I target was colourblind >.>

What about monitors that can somehow display what they're showing as some sort of 'laser light show' onto the user's face? :p

Another one that really bugged me was CSI:NY, the scientist says he is going to put something through HPLC (high pressure liquid chromatography) and briefly explains what it is, then puts the sample under a microscope .

Given the tendancyof the original CSI to use a GC/MS to process DNA samples (and the odd metal as well) I'm quite grateful that they've even heard of HPLC. I'll gloss over whether it would be the best technique for the job - it seldom is.

My fave CSI moment was when Sarah said she'd wait for a DNA sample to process, which had just been loaded (on the afore-mentioned GC/MS, but I'll ignore that). I hope you brought a book love, 'cos it takes about five hours...

This one always ****s me.

Car Pulls Over to talk to someone "TIRE SCREEEEECH!!!"
Car stops to turn around "TIRE SCREEEECH!!!"

Bloody sound effects:p

One i noticed last night is how ancient temples and underground mausoleums have huge, ancient stone doors which somehow open themselves when you push the button/step on the block/twist the torch. Has nobody ever wondered how they power those things?

It's when they screech off when driving on gravel that always makes me laugh.

I'd have said pulleys and counterweights and such.

One thing that always amuses me is that in Hollywood nobody can raise a firearm without the sound of some very strange sound effect...

Silencers on guns don't really make that 'silencer' noise, do they?

By the way, were American cars really only hard to start in moments of peril?
And were they all wired the same for ease of hotwiring, with two bare wires under the steering column?
