I enjoy expensive vodka but yea the cheaper stuff is all about the end result

You can get drinks that taste nice for the same price, that actually are pleasing to taste, and don't always result in a trip to the bathroom on your hands and knees.

I agree, which is why i only drink alcohol if i want to get drunk, i never drink it for the taste

Ra!

Filtered the ming from my strawberry and citrus skittles bottles using an old shirt, and as the nerds had no vegetable fats, I filtered it through my end of life Britta filter.

Strawberry = Tastes AWESOME!!
Citrus = OK, still a noticable amount of vodka taste though
Marshmallow = Syrupy and yummy, not overly marshmallowy though, as they don't have a powerful taste to begin with.
Sour Nerds = Can barely taste any vodka, will go well with mixers

skittles been in 2 mins with a shake

i bought 2 big bags but had loads left over, put 40 purple in one bottle and 20 orange/red in the other bottle. thinking of putting a mix in another bottle.

should i put more in or is 40 enough for the size of bottle?

Nice job Krooton! That marshmellow one looks ghostly.

Apparently it improves the vodka having something fleshy in it because it absorbs the impurities, especially in cheap vodka. I might have to try real strawberries.

12 hours later

the vodka smell has all but gone and is quite fruity now. the skittles look to have fully disolved, how much longer should it be left and will i be ok topping up with the extra vodka that i took out too make space for skittles?

Got myself a bag of skittles and 35cl vodka from Asda today. I ended up drinking some of the vodka on the way home and eat most skittles, but I saved some. Mine isn't as green as it is in most of your pictures as I didn't use too many skittles and I didn't leave it long. I ran it through a coffee filter before placing it back into the bottle.

I think overtime the sugars would crystalize at the bottom. I think I prefer it without still but at least it looks nicer in colours.

Got a couple that have been sitting here for 2 weeks:

The red one seems to have faded a lot.

The one on the right is the vodka we had to take out of the other two to fit the skittles in. It's got about 2 packets' worth of purple and orange ones in it, and has the consistency of treacle!
