Sky Fibre Optic

Hi guys,

Quick question: I am about to move to a new property which currently does not benefit from FTTC. Thus I can only get Sky's LLU package rather than fibre as it stands.

However, according to the BT Wholesale Checker, FTTC is planned to be available from September.

Question is this: if I was to sign up for their LLU deal with tv etc...would I be able to be migrated on to the fibre package for an additional monthly cost (and not get stung)...or should I wait until their fibre deal is officially available at the property before getting into a 12month contract.

Thanks in advance. JB

Jon

Wait till you can get fibre them join Sky, if you join you might have to pay the £50 installation fee if there is no deals for Sky members at that time.

After years of waiting fibre has just become available in my area (yay).

I'm thinking of going with sky, however, am I right in thinking the sky hub will only have 3 usable networking ports after setup?

My contract was up so called them up, Got TV including Movies, Line Rental, Sky Fibre Pro all for £53 a month for 12 months.

Fibre enabled Thurs but only the 40/10 package ordered, rang complaints dept who listened to calls to confirm i was to get the 80/20. They said very sorry about this and gave me a tenner a month off for 6 months. BARGAIN!

Crikey that is good Wynthorpe.

I just got half price sports, and fibre for free for 6 months ('cause I have sky sports). Hopefully £50 cashback on the fibre will track too to try and avoid the activation fee.

Can't top the deal above though because of the line rental, nice.

Grr, my speed had dropped to almost half yet again :(

Last time BT swapped my line onto a spare pair, and all was good for a while. I'm also experiencing the connection hangs when loading pages sometimes.

Do you need a new contract to go from SFU to SFUP?

When I upgraded a day after my install I was told it would be a new 12 month contract, although in that case all it did was add an extra day. I think regrading the service with Openreach restarts the 12 month contract with them which is why Sky do it.
