Sky Fibre Optic

Not to troll. But for the record, Sky BB for those of us without Fibre is pretty awful at the moment. You only have to look at their forums lately to see it, and the acknowledgement that Sky have made recently about problem proves that there are indeed congestion issues. So I don't think it's that far fetched for someone to say a bad thing about Sky at the moment lol.

Which is fine, but post that in a ADSL thread not the Fibre thread.
Or at least back up what you are saying with something factual!!

My line went down at 01:05am this morning, restarted everything, still no connection.....

Will have to call and see if its a local issue

Granted there will always be a percentage of sky BB[ADSL/FIBRE] that will have problems, this applies to any service provided by a company be it BT, Vigin, Plusnet. There are over 4,235,000 sky bb[ADSL/FIBRE] users -

Here are some of the key facts and figures about our business at a glance.
All operating statistics are accurate as of 30 June 2012.

Slightly off topic, but from those numbers, it appears Sky make a mahoosive amount of money each month.....if you just look at the HD customers and take the fact that casts £10 per month that's £45M per month on its own....Some of those numbers will be crossed over from multi package deals, but still is a nice amount

Confirmed with Sky its an issue in the local area/exchange hopefully it will be up by the time I get home

Back to normal

this is my so called fibre PRO speed.

I do find it amusing as my line can handle 135MB and I'm syncing at 80/20

that's from ethernet and wireless is the same

Fibre is still a contended product so its still an up to speed you are paying for not a guaranteed speed.

did you bother to read my earlier post? regardless of contention, my line is capable of 135MB and I'm synced at 80/20 so the point I'm making is that my speeds are rubbish for what I can achieve. trust me this is NOT a contention issue as the BTO engineer told me here was plenty of headroom left in the cabinet. sky are incompetent. there is plenty of evidence of it on the sky and skyuser forums.

You do realise contention isn't limited to your local cabinet? :p

quite right but when I pay for, and my line can handle the full big daddy oh speedy gonzales then it's carp

You are on FTTCabnet not FTTPremises, so you have 80/20 upto the cabnet and from there you have copper cable to your master socket. So depending how good all the connections are and age + distance, number of people connected, will govern your final speed.
