*** Sky Q Thread ***

Hi Guys

Looking for some advice, I'm moving to a new place at the end of Jan and our inlaws will be in an annex next door (wife's dad had an op last year which left him paralysed from the waist down)

We want to have the main box in our living room and maybe the Q mini in our bedroom, then another main box in their living room and Q mini in their bedroom all with the full package as they watch lots of football (maybe not the movie packages actually). Is this possible?

Thanks Mart

You can only have one main box per installation. If you register the annexe as a separate address and don't mind two dishes it could be done though. You'd have to pay for two accounts.

Couldn't this be done with one main box and three minis, depending on what separates the annex?

Sony 4k Juddering fix OTA is here. Our KD-55XD9305 has had the update.

The new firmware is PKG3.533.0108EUB.

I've got a Harmony one with a minibox and it works hidden behind a wall mounted TV, I'm pretty sure the original remote did as well...

One report on the Sky forums of juddering post-update :(

That doesn't look like juddering to me but maybe a switching issue between the Android app and the Sky box.

No issues on ours so far but I'll only consider it fixed if it stays like this until the end of the month.

Finally after a 4 week wait my sky q has finally been installed. Came first thing this morning which was quite nice as it means I can now get in with my day.

As I said previously I've gone for the 2tb box, guy set it up pretty quickly and gave me an quick demo. The touch remote is quite cool although it's very sensitive.

All in quite impressive, everything is so much faster compared to my old aging sky hd+ box.

Now just have a few more days to wait before my new Panasonic 4K tv arrives.

As I said pretty impressed with the sky q system. Just hope I don't have any issues like some are suffering by so far so good.

I didn't bother with the q mini boxes as I've only got the one tv.

Only annoyance I have is that every time you turn the box on, is that it starts on the top picks screen rather than starting at the last channel watched.

Other than that happy with it.

Whats the deal with SkyQ compared to the old SkyGo Extra? With SkyQ, can you watch live TV (in this case the F1 races) on a PC / laptop located outside your home?

Can you still only have 4 registered devices?

Still only four devices and watch on two at a time, yes. Watching outside your home as long as it's in the UK and Ireland. Basically takes the place of Sky Go and you can copy stuff from your planner onto your device.
