*** Sky Q Thread ***

Your contract is for 12 months from when Q was installed, if you had any offers on your account they would have transferred over with the new Q contract until as such time they ran out, then the non offer price applies for the remaining time of your 12 month contract.

Cheers, so basically I'll be paying through the nose for the last bit of the contract?

Contract length changed after about 4 months after launch.

@Dooksey
You'll be paying standard price for your package for the remaining time of your contract...

Does anyone know much about Sky's introductory offers and how they work? I signed up when the free 32" Samsung TV was on offer about a month or so ago.

Unfortunately when the engineer visited to do the install he had to leave without completing the job, as I'm in a small block of flats with an older distribution box which isn't compatible with Sky Q. He himself phoned up Sky whilst at my property and advised them to put the job on hold.

I'm currently in talks with my letting agency, who are in turn in touch with the building manager, to get the distribution box upgraded to be compatible with Sky Q.

When this has been completed am I likely to get the free TV, which was the incentive I needed to pull the trigger and sign up? As they're not doing that offer anymore I'm assuming none are left.

Do you think I'll be able to argue a package upgrade in lieu of a free TV?

We've been offered Sky Q full package and a free mini box for £42 per month for 12 months, via a friend that works for Sky, not sure if there is an install cost though?

Sounds like a good deal, plus the cost of fibre and phone I'd imagine

Got a letter today saying that my current offer has been extended for 5 YEARS. Anyone else had this as almost seems too good to be true and very unlike Sky?

I upgraded to Sky Q in September with 60% off so to have this deal for 5 years is great and saves the annual haggle!

I'm currently on a Sky HD package and will be moving end-Jan/early-Feb. Is the best option to cancel my current contract end of Dec and place an order for Sky Q?

I suspect that I won't be able to order Sky Q until I have actually moved into the property (meaning a wait of several weeks once an order is placed).

New firmware pushed out overnight

Had the update too on my Sky 2tb and minis.
Saw this elsewhere for what has changed;

Fixes for this release Q003.001.45.00L (4lvm0pw) include;
- Addresses an issue affecting 1TB Sky Q boxes where no sound could be heard when connected to certain models of Samsung TV.
- Addresses an issue where the box may crash under certain situations when watching Online Videos.
- Resolves an issue when pairing a Sky Q Touch remote with a Q box where an on screen message would be displayed advising that pairing had been unsuccessful despite the pairing having completed successfully.
- Resolves an issue where a green screen is displayed when the Q box starts up.
- Resolves an issue where a Q box would switch in to standby randomly.
- Addresses certain situations which would cause a Sky Q Mini box to reboot.
- The Sky logo displayed in the bottom left of the Sky Q Guide had been updated to the new corporate style.

Powerline has been turned to On for the Sky 2tb boxes, but still set to off for the Mini.

Can confirm that Powerline has been assigned a MAC address on my 2tb box.

Anyone still have this FF discount?

Just tried in chat to get a decent price but best they could offer was £78 montly for sky q with 2tb (£60 setup grrrr) top tv package and max fibre broadband.

I pay £48 with vm for top tv package and 120mb broadband.

Really want sky q though for UHD and the TiVo is clunky and rubbish.

Really playing hardball with them but my haggling skills evade me.

Well you'll qualify for a new customer Sky F&F deal, just keep your eyes peeled for one of the Sky staffers on here such as MissChief to get some more codes - the deals are usually pretty good.
