Sky Sports to remain home of Formula 1 until 2029 after deal extended in all Sky markets

As I don't have a TV licence now TV etc isn't even an option.

So annoying f1tv isn't available here

Wonder how things will go for sky going forward? Sky TV is a big expense that a lot have. And with inflation price rises wonder how many will cut it

Most I'd pay is a few quid a month. F1 isn't good enough to pay Netflix prices.

My. Upper limit would be 6-7 ppm

Same, I would consider it for under £10 a month (maybe). For £5 definitely. Even at £20 (the latest nowtv offer), that is far too much. Im not interested in any other sports really, so why cant they just do an F1 sub on NOW TV?

Yeah probably goes for quite a lot of f1 people.

I watch 6 nations and f1 and that's it.

At least for me it's a clear, easy choice.
Would cost 150 a year for TV licence + whatever it is for the f1 and all the junk you get alongside.

F1tv I wouldn't need TV licence either. Ridiculous the contract has been extended

Yep.

Sky are stupid. If they had an F1 only sub on now TV for under £5-10 a month, they'd likely get loads of subscribers.

The demographics of who likes which sport are quite different and I think there is little crossover most of the time

But they’d need four or five times the number of subscribers to make up the difference to those who take the full Sports sub?

By the letter of the law, you would need a TV license to watch F1TV too - anything deemed live needs a license.

They could never prove it though

If that's true its so ridiculous.
TV licence goes primarily to BBC right?

F1tv. I'm paying my ISP who's paying for infrastructure and physical delivery. And paying F1 for the service.

In no way does it require me paying a tax to the BBC.

TV licence is ridiculous, it's a dinosaur from the past.

The tax covers any live streaming, YouTube, Twitch etc (not individual streamers, but professional events).

TV license needs scrapped

TV license needs scrapped

My personal view is that times have moved on. In past I get it. TV broadcast etc and paying for the infrastructure.
But with Internet connection (which pay for already) and paying for any content (via ads delivered for free or subscription) I see no reason that TV licence should exist.

If its primarily for BBC dinosaur, it should have to compete on its own, like every other service.

Times have moved on. In my opinion, if you don't use BBC services you shouldn't need a TV licence.

Sorry to go off topic! :D

86% of the licence fee is spent on BBC TV channels, radio stations, BBC iPlayer, BBC Sounds and online services

Yeah. I have no guilt not paying that. Absolutely ridiculous reading the above!
That's from TV licencing website

The TV license definitely needs to be scrapped. It is an absurdity in the modern world. It isn't the public's fault that the BBC haven't changed their business model quick enough. They need to start charging a proper subscription, and should have started to put the work into implementing it probably a decade ago.

Why would they do that though? Their income would be reduced massively. And there'd be adverts. And the quality of programming would drop massively.
